Maz Jobrani is practically my hero - it's so great to see an Iranian American who is socially active and fights for what's right. That being said, it was great to read his book and find out where he comes from, and what his background is. It's a little disorganized, but Maz isn't an author, so you have to give him a lot of credit for getting this together. If you like his comedy, you'll love the book!

Maz Jobrani is a mess!!

Best book ever. I watched Maz Jobrani's Youtube videos, watched some of his movies and this guy is funny. He makes fun of every one. I loved his book. Some of his memories of growing up matches mine. I am going to look forward to more of his books, movies and TV shows. I hope I get to see him live. The book is about an immigrant Irani family, and how their lives changed living in America. Well written and while reading the book it gives the sense the reader is living that life, absorbed in the story, some areas brought back memories of my own childhood. Problems, and funny moments refugees experience whether they moved to America at an early age or later in life, and immigrants growing up in other countries. A must read.

It makes a good summer read

Just finished reading this book, a well written memoir by the Iranian comedian Maz Jobrani, the book is jam-packed with intriguing stories that only immigrants can tell. Although, it is deemed to be an autobiography, Maz masterfully analyses a number of critical social, cultural, and other issues and incorporates them immaculately into the theme of his book strengthened by his radiant sense of humor. It makes a good summer read. I recommend it highly.

Great book. Really funny

Great book. Really funny. Loved the cultural jokes. The only thing we didn't like about it was that it had too much swearing and some adult humour.
