Description
- LARGE: Birds weighing 23 - 46 oz (650+ - 1300 grams), such as Blue and Gold Macaws, Scarlet Macaws, Military Macaws,Greater Sulphur Crested Cockatoos, Umbrella Cockatoos, small to average size Palm Cockatoos, most Poultry
- Includes the Fred Bird Harness and leash AND an additional neck loop that is ONE SIZE LARGER and always comes in BLACK to reduce the urge to chew (birds typically like to play with, and chew on, brightly colored items)
- Bird trainers recommend using a LARGER HEADLOOP for training birds, and changing over to the fitted harness once a bird has gotten used to wearing a harness. Also, some birds within any species simply have larger heads or are generally larger - so the larger head loop would be the right fit for them. Plus, the additional head loop will allow you to use the harness for two different birds that are of slightly different sizes (one size up). The abdomen belt is adjustable.
- Harness training is easier if one starts with a larger head loop for INDOOR training and then changes to the fitted head loop once a pet is trained, at which point a pet is ready to be taken outside. The additional head loop can also be used for pets that have larger heads or are generally larger than their peers; or it can convert the harness to the next size up allowing owners to use the harness for two different pet birds (the abdomen belt is adjustable).
- This bird harness eliminates many of the problems associated with other harnesses as it is far easier to put on; the leash detaches from the harness, so training a pet will be easier (no tripping over the leash); detaching the leash indoors eliminates the need of frequently having to put the harness on or take it off throughout the day. Parts of this harness/leash can be purchased separately - so that there is no need to replace the entire product if only a part of it is damaged
This is a comfortable harness for pet birds. The strong nylon webbing is chew resistant and is designed to conform to a bird's physique. The harness underwent 18 months of testing on numerous parrots of all sizes. Parrots wore our test harnesses for an entire year (indoors and outside, day and night) without any signs of skin irritation or feather damage.
