Q: Will this fit in a Reliance PB30 box?

Yes it will. I just changed out by Reliance PB20 20 amp outlet with this one and rewired my setup for 30 AMPS. Fit like a glove and save the money from having to buy the complete PB30.

Q: Best way to mount this in my garage for a generator? My garage is finished

Depends if you are surface mounting or recess in the wall. I surface mounting, use a deep 4x4 or 6x6 pvc electrical box, cut the mounting hole in the cover and attach. If recess, use a deep double gang cut-in box and use an appropriate industrial plate(these are metal, google them) or modify a blank two gang plate (plastic or metal) to take the device.

Q: Will this mount into a panel with knock outs

I installed this in a 2” knockout of a 200 amp panel but it is a little sloppy fit. It worked with one screw holding the majority of it. The two other screws aren’t doing much but helping a little. You will be better off using a 2 1/4” hole saw and filing it out further if you need to get a good fit. Worked great with the matching female connector from Journeyman Pro.

Q: will the female end of most any 220V 4 prong extension cord fit insed the well of this receptacle?

This device is made for a 30 amp 125/250 volt twist lock receptacle, anything other than a female connection with those specs will not work.
