The unit has a dial that you can turn from low to high. The low setting gives a tapping motion, while the high setting is straight strong vibration. There is also an infared setting, which you turn on/off by pushing a button. The attachments screw on to the unit and are sturdy. I have ALOT of knots in my back and neck and this helped. =D OMG I don't remember when I ever felt so good. I'm soo glad that now I don't have to pay for a massage very 2 weeks I can do this massager whenever. I promise you wont be let down.
