I chose this bag over several others I was considering because each of the others mentioned that the bag moved around on the rack or flopped over to one side when loaded. There was no mention of those issues with this bag. And with good reason. The four point mounting system is extremely sturdy with velcro closure on both the inside and the outside of the straps. They are locked in solid when mounted. The Bushwhacker Mesa also uses a much stiffer inner foam framework than i was expecting so the bag holds its shape regardless of whether it's empty or packed full. I gave the Mesa 5 stars but I would've given it 10 as it's a wonderful piece of equipment. There may be others which will hold more but this holds as much as I want on my seatpost mounted rack; any more would be overload, imo. The main compartment is 12" x 6" x 6" and each side pocket is 11" x 6" x 2" with a 11" x 4" pocket on top for papers and such, giving me enough capacity to carry all I want on the rear rack. If I need to carry more, I hook up my B.O.B. trailer anyway. There are nice reflective stripes on the sides and rear of the bag along with a tail light loop. Even the embroidered logo on the back is classy. I would buy this bag again in a second.

This product is an improvement from the older style I purchased in 1992. I like the improvements made to this new Mesa Bike bag.

I have had mine since 6\2022 and it works as if it was new! Liked it so much we got one for my wife's bike. The walls are strong and don't collapse (holds its shape) The pocket on top of the lid is perfect for holding my phone and makes it easy to get to. The Velcro holds tight! The bag does not remove easily. If you don't know how to take it off you probably couldn't get it off quickly. I find this keeps it safe when we make short stops. I DO NOT remove them from the bikes when we have the bikes on the rack so they have been road tested at 70 mph on a hitch mount rack behind my truck. Don't know if they recommend this or not. but we have had good luck doing it
