Calico Critters Grocery Market

When my little sister’s birthday came around, I wanted to find something that would actually keep her engaged for more than five minutes, and this Calico Critters Grocery Market hit the mark perfectly. The level of detail in the miniature pieces is honestly amazing. the tiny oranges, bread loaves, and milk cartons are so cute together. The set includes a functional conveyor belt and a little shopping cart, which really helps guide the imaginative play. The structure itself is sturdy and fits perfectly with the other buildings in the Calico Critters line. The only downside is the sheer number of tiny, loose stickers and components. Because the pieces are so small, they are also incredibly easy to lose in a carpet or suck up in a vacuum if you aren't careful. I’d definitely recommend keeping a small Tupperware container nearby to store the accessories when the kids are done playing.

My daughter can play for hours with this toy. She loves the details and it’s very well made. It’s not cheap but it’s worth it!

This is the cutest toy ever. It’s beautifully made for creative play. Just wanted to point out two things. There is minimal “assembly” of the base and the store walls.. but if you’re gifting this to a young child, be aware that all the stickers, on every part of the toy, need to be put onto it. They are not pre-attached, but instead it comes with sticker sheets. I mention this because it did take me well over an hour to apply all the stickers (including the “boxed and canned” food items, so I’m glad I did all the stickers before wrapping the gift!). It requires a bit of dexterity to get them on neatly. The second point- is that a few of the accessories such as the “debit card” and fruits are pretty small, so a young child may lose track of them eventually. Neither issue would dissuade me from recommending this beautiful toy! Also remember to buy you’re Calico Critters figures separately because the toy doesn’t come with critters!
