Smittybilt 18605 Black Adventure Box

A great storage box is why I'm rating this a five. The manufacturing could have done a better job, had problems with the locks but re-invented the wheel for them and fixed it myself. As long as you can think clearly and can think problems out, you will love it. I wish it was a little longer for a truck, but I stand on mine to load my rack on the truck and is very solid, not like my deezee which I smashed in. I hope they hire a quality control person but I still think it's a great box and would buy again.

The product is well built and well thought out- but utterly insecure as it was sent to me. There are 2 locks with 4 keys included- and not one of the keys will operate either lock. I'm hoping that Smittybilt can make it right- because the shipping box was destroyed in transit and this thing is WAY to big to ship back on my own dime.

Update 1.31.17 received and email from Smittybilt Customer Service Team telling me to keep my truck in a garage, carport or my favorite "TARP IT" and that all tool boxes leak. I wish I would have thought of that.....Love the new look of my Black Raptor with a blue tarp flapping around in the back. Should have bought a blue truck I guess.Original Review...I installed it in my F150 about 2 months ago. Everything seems to be working well except, apparently it was leaking. In less than 2 months everything in the main box is molding. The whole top inside of the lid is soaking wet. I have tried to seal it but haven't had any luck. I open the box and the whole lid is soaking(dripping) wet. In my case the Bottom drawer seems to be fine. I am currently trying to get Smittybilt to find a solution. Love the look and it fit perfect but DO NOT put it outside. Pretty bad considering it is a truck tool box not a kids toy box.

The box is well made and came in great shape. No issues on shipping for me unlike others. I got mine from EBay as it was $100 less. But is good quality. Heavy duty. Solid and can hold me standing on top. It has several slit or areas to through bolt it which I plan to do soon. Others have complained about water proof but no issues for me as I have a tonneau cover and no issues. Also used some foam when I mounted to keep water from coming in those holes and silicon. I do wish it was about 6” wider to fit better. And wish it had a sliding tray up top. But real happy and I looked at many options.

It showed up with dings and dents in it from the shipping which wasnt a huge deal. Then after having it in the truck for less then a day it had water in it even though its advertised as waterproof. I guess if your keeping scuba gear in the box then this is the box for you!
