Good quality creates an impressive spark

This is perfect if you need children to be able to use it reliably.The ferro rod is suitably soft so you get reliable stream of sparks.While the striker may look like every other product out there, there's a slight burr on the edge which makes an enormous difference to being able to get a good shower of sparks.With a large handle, this is really easy to grip and keep a firm hold, something that makes smaller equivalents very hard for children to use reliably.

Why did you choose this product over others?:Works perfectly, but could do with a handle/padding on the striker too

It's reliable and sturdy, the little carry bag that comes with it is handy too.

This is a larger more robust version of other offerings on Amazon and well worth the money. Works really well and comes with flint rod with sturdy wooden handle, striking tool, treated wooden block for making fire shavings all tied together with nylon rope and it all fits nicely into the supplied draw string bag. Very pleased with purchase.

Superb spark and sturdy product

Excellent bit of kit.

I have struggled with getting others to spark in the past but this worked great. Plenty of sparks and the addition of the firelighter meant I could get the kids involved in lighting the campfires safely.
