The Picture of Dorian Gray (Deluxe Hardbound Edition)

The quality of the book is the best, totally worth it, I was excited while unboxing it, it was good it has pretty golden page corner. Best book in my book shelf.

I remember this was the first book I bought by fingerprints publishing and I was absolutely blown away! Nowadays I've moved onto less prominent and more costlier publishers (Everyman's Library my sweetheart). But I'll recommend Fingerprints for anyone who is searching for peak quality from Rs. 300 to 1k price range. The cover itself is great, and the printing inside is a bit cheaper feeling but it's still good nonetheless. The content of course is peak, only expected of Wilde!

• FIRST LOOK--> A hardbound cream colour cardboard that melts your heart everytime you see it; it is such beautiful. The shining red texts catches your eyes immediately and the blue linings are just amazing. I can say anyone who look at this book for the first time will surely wanna touch it once. The best catch of this cover (for me) was that small potrait of Dorian Gray at the mid top. The golden strips for the pages are perfectly filled. 5 ⭐ for the cover. • CONTENT (0 SPOILERS)--> This is one of the best fictions I've ever read! I've 40+ fiction collection and if I were to put them rank wise, I'll give this novel the 3rd rank. It's such a handsome piece of work, by our respected Oscar Wilde, that will keep you intact right from the beginning till it ends. The language used is perfect even for a beginner. It contains several symbols for some words that needs to be explained and are explained at the bottom of the specific page. Texts are perfect; no blurriness, no over-printing, no oily effect. Page quality is good (thick enough). I don't wanna give any spoiler here, but I would say if you're interested in fiction, you should read this novel once. Or, it may be a very good option as a gift for a bibliophilic person. 5 ⭐ for the content. [This is the only book I've rated 5 stars in 2023.] • PACKING--> The packing that I recieved was good but I guess it could have been little more protective. They provided me with a cardboard box which was okay but for a book it should've been more tough. I had a little bump on one of the corners of the novel; but it's okay. 4 ⭐ for packaging. • WARNING --> Don't, just don't and must not keep this book on any surface until it is soft enough. DON'T put it in between two books which are not of its type (which do not have cover like this). If you do not have enough space just keep it on your bed and cover it with a proper cloth. That will be far better than keeping it along with any other (even little) rough surface. This is because I had kept it in between my paperback books and it got some scratches on the top and it really hurts 🤕. I hope this review helps you. Thank you! ☺️

The Picture of Dorian Gray is a haunting exploration of vanity, morality, and the consequences of living without restraint. Such a beautiful book, I’ve been watching a handful of shows recently and they all have Dorian gray references or him playing a part so I was curious who he was. The book is gorgeous, from the cover to the pages. I’m only 4 chapters in, but so far it is a great read!
