So full discretion, this is my first smartwatch. But being that this could be someone else's first smartwatch, I feel all the negative reviews don't really give this watch a fair review. As far as why I bought it, it had a pretty nice black Friday sale. Also i was waiting to get a smartwatch that was a well reviewed Google compatible watch as I'm deep in the Google ecosystem. So i would be reviewing it from that angle like a Apple watch customer review would most likely be by an iPhone user.I've had the watch for little under 3 months and here's what I think. First off, if you're not part of the Google ecosystem (Pixel phones, Nest Devices, etc.) then i don't think you'd like this watch. If you do however, I think it is worth considering. It adapts to your Google devices seamlessly, letting you do most the things your Google assistant can do on your other devices. I will say it takes some getting used to and playing around with but not the biggest learning curve so you can really just jump into it.It also has the other obvious smartwatch utilities (HR monitor, step tracker, notification control, call, text, etc.) In that aspect, I don't really see anything that would make it stand out from any other smartwatch but at least it's there. You're not sacrificing regular smartwatch features for the Google Wear OS. As far as the use so far, I think it could have been made or designed a bit better. The HR monitor is not the best. Unless I'm cutting off the circulation in my wrist, the monitor will struggle to read your HR. Also, it says it's water resistant enough to still work through your workout. I workout in my gym at home, so it's not dirty because people don't wipe machines and I'm not getting covered in dirt. But I noticed after working up a sweat, the main button on the watch has started to get stuck. And i don't work in a dirty environment either for the watch to get gunk in the button cell. So that's a worry down the line, especially since I've had it barely 3 months. Battery life is great. I use it all day for about 16hrs and i only need to charge it once between those 16hrs. Sometimes picking up calls on the watch isn't the best, it's a struggle to hear someone talking unless you're in a quiet room but honestly it is a smartwatch so that's really a nitpick (but I've never had any other smartwatch es so idk if others have better call features). It also does have more features that i can't talk about as I haven't really used them. All in all, i say if you're in the Google ecosystem in any way, than give it a shot because it'll definitely adapt seamlessly into your day to day. Otherwise I'd say keep looking for other watches.Hope this helps someone.

Read before you get scared of lesser reviews
I ordered the watch, and it shipped before I looked deeper into the reviews. I’m a fan of Citizen so I wasn’t concerned about quality at first. After reading the reviews I panicked a little. But I let it ride because I know most of what I read had more to do with user knowledge vs actual product issues.I’m not uploading any photos, because the product is represented well with what is already shown. It’s a great looking watch, that does what it says. But let’s tackle the elephant in the room.. the battery life. I wore the watch for 12 hours straight, when I took it off it was at 53% remaining. All these reviews stating the battery is garbage aren’t true. It’s a watch, not a cell phone. So if your trying to use it like a cell phone it’s going to have a 4 hour battery life. Personally I use it for notifications, and health data tracking, and well.. a watch. I have mine set to Bluetooth only (no WiFi) so it uses phone data to send and receive, and stays connected for health data. I have screen set to “tilt to wake” and have the screen set to timeout after 5 seconds. I also don’t use it as a phone, because I have my phone with me always. I could easily get two days of use out of it. The more you try to push it, the less the life you’ll get. But you have a cell phone, use that to surf and communicate. Not understanding why people want to do that with a watch. LolThe setup was easy enough, but I’m a tech nerd. The average person may have issues. But look and you will find it somewhere in the little “how to charge” booklet that comes with it, that the full instructions are found on the citizen website (saving trees). With that I set it up and had no issues. It comes with health tracking apps, and a few others.. but expect to hit Google store if you want to download others. (It is really a Google watch with the citizen stamp on it.. so be ready for that also)I don’t think it’s overpriced for the watch. It looks clean, the simulated analogue faces are awesome. It’s not a far throw from apples watch (the app for my iphone to interact with it is very similar to the Apple Watch app). If you like citizen and want to pay a little less for a smart watch, this isn’t a bad buy. I’ll let you know if it breaks in 2 weeks like others have said lol (but I imagine that’s more user error than watch issues)Hope this helpsUpdate: month after purchase.Watch still working well. I did notice that the USB cable provided does not work with all charging cubes, so maybe that’s why people think it stopped charging. It doesn’t come with one, so if you have issues with it not charging try a different charging block (apple one works well). I’m still getting 12 hours with 53% remaining.

Poor battery life
I am enjoying the watch outside the battery life, barely makes it through the day, when the watch goes into battery saving mode the watch looses all the settings. The app on your phone is poor to say the least. I like the features within the watch but if you turn any of them on the battery dies far to quickly. The only real pro for me is that it looks nice.

It's basically a Fossil 5 in a Citizen wrapper
This watch is ok, but be aware that you are basically buying a Fossil 5 Carlyle in a Citizen wrapper. I even found the Fossil app in the system apps list in a disabled state. It's using the Snap Dragon 3100 instead of the 4100 and everything about it is identical to the Fossil 5. Like they came off the same manufacturing line. This wouldn't be so bad if you at least got a Citizen quality case and band/bracelet, but you don't. Other than the wrist snap that is branded Citizen (and is really clunky and hard to open), even the strap itself is identical to the Fossil 5. I can even use the spare links interchangeably between them. The case looks better than the Fossil at a passing glance, but it's no better in quality and the bezel doesn't rotate so it's purely an aesthetic touch and not functional. So, if you don't like the Fossil 5 then don't buy this one. They are basically the same. Buy the Fossil 6 for cheaper. You'll get the same case and band/bracelet quality, but you'll get the Snap Dragon 4100 and a pulse ox sensor to boot.

Nice watch
Yes battery life is bad until you finish setting it up and down load the up date . Can get a full day out off it and only takes about an hour to recharge. Picked up a second charge for heavy use day's so can charge at work.

Horrible battery life
Update: went for refund due to battery life. Amazon customer service so very helpful as always.Although reviews stated battery issues I went ahead and ordered the Citizen. It's a nice looking watch but battery life pathetic. Lack of choice of watch faces is another issue.I'll be giving it another day but I am leaning towards returning the watch at this point

Short battery life,
The battery last about a day or two and the watch stopped working after a year and half. Hopefully citizen will put out better smart watches up to their regular ecodrive ones. Really disappointed.
