Prove it!
I'm writing this review prior to buying this product. Why? Because I have read the negative reviews that are from folks who think this product is meant as a permanent attachment to their cast iron skillets, even while cooking/baking, and then blame the product when it's hot from prolonged exposure to heat.IF I find that this product is inferior, I will update it accordingly. But I'm tired of reading all these bad reviews from people who are either lying or just plain clueless.1/16/18: These arrived today and so I decided to check it out while making dinner.Well, first this is the package that tells you that it's not to be left on the pan while cooking. See photo.Second, these fit my 10.25" skillet nicely. The long handle is snug enough to control the pan, but large enough to slip over the handle easily. While the assist handle is made to envelop a variety of handle sizes, but easily grips the small handle on my skillet.I will be seasoning my skillet later this week and will update again.1/20/18: Okay, I made cornbread this weekend and I baked it in my skillet. I used these handles to take it out of the oven. We were going to friends for dinner and running late so no time to let it cool. I carried the skillet using these handles all the way to the car. ZERO heat transfer.2/20/18: I bought a 15" skillet a couple weeks ago and these handles fit it just as well as the 10.25" one. The assist handle still fits and the two still work in tandem to control this very big and hefty skillet. My 5 star review will remain as is because these are perfect.

I got this for my mom for the holidays because she uses her cast iron skillet quite a lot daily and throughout the week and she has this bad habit of reaching for the handle after baking it and burning her hand. This is a really great product the only issue I have with it is that it heats up very fast so the trick we use is to slide it off about halfway so that it's hanging off of the handle whenever we're not touching it or even just slipping it back off and putting it in a drawer or on the countertop while we're cooking. The one that goes on the other side that's not the handle I would just recommend not using it unless you're actively picking it up and putting it in the oven. But as for the fit we have a standard large-ish size cast iron in this fits perfectly! You do have to wiggle the handle sleeve on and off but otherwisenits not too tight or loose n slippery- perfect stocking stuffer for the cook in your life!

Handle doesn't slide on very easily
I have a 10.5" Lodge skillet. The assist handle cover was fine, but the actual handle cover was, in my opinion, not going to be safe. First, it was about 1" too long, but more importantly I can't imagine trying to slide this handle on when trying to take the pan out of the oven. There are gripping ridges on the inside of the handle to help keep it on the handle - sounds like a good idea but those same ridges also make it a two-handed job to slide the silicone grip onto the handle (meaning you will need to have a firm grip on the assist handle just to slide the regular handle on. I just can't imagine trying to do this without occasionally burning your fingers.

disappointing
I have yet to find a good solution for handle holders for my cast iron pans. I thought this set would be perfect, but the pan has already melted the 'assist handle' piece. The one that slides over the actual handle, it has enough resistance to make it a little difficult to slide on and off (like if you're going to put the pan in the oven), but the silicone handle itself gets almost too hot to hold if you're just using the pan on the stove, so in that case I'm not sure it's really doing anything helpful if I still need to put on oven mitts to hold on to the pan. I wish these worked well, but they've disappointed me pretty quickly into owning them.

Not heat resistant enough
I've read the reviews that say this item is not for leaving on a cast iron skillet while you are cooking something. I'm confused because that is exactly why I bought it. If it's just for taking a pan out of the oven that is one thing, but I expected something to cover the skillet handle WHILE I am cooking. This did not do the job. I'm not going to return it, but keep it for taking skillets out of the oven, but I need another cover for my cast iron skillet handle that WILL protect my hand from the heat while cooking on the stovetop. However, in fairness to the manufacturer I will try putting it on and taking it off the skillet when moving it around on the burner as I cook.

Exactly what I wanted, perfect!
I recently bought a heavy cast iron skillet and it worked great, the only problem was that my wife almost burned herself grabbing the handle, I immediately looked on Amazon and found this silicone combo pack and ordered it, took a little longer than usual to be delivered ( not 2 days ). When it arrived she used them along with the heavy skillet, she's happy so I'm happy, very good product!!!

I want to like it... But I don't.
I bought these for use with my 10.5 inch cast iron skillet. The piece that should fit on the handle is shaped (as you see in the picture) in such a way that it is difficult to put on a hot handle (such as when trying to pull from an oven). The fitted part does not want to fit over the wider part, such as a ring going on over a knuckle... Also, the silicone is not thick enough to actually protect from heat transfer for longer than a few seconds. It works enough for me to keep using it rather than send it back (too much of a hassle) but I do not recommend.

Not as useful as hoped
I bought these to use on my Sautee pan when it comes from the oven because I always forget the handles are hot and touch them as I'm removing food and making gravy. The handle holder gets really hot after a few minutes although the helper handle holder works ok both for pans coming out of the oven and stove top. The handle holder fits very tight and the helper handle holder is very loose on my Le Creuset hard anodized nonstick cookwear. They weren't terribly expensive and work well enough for stove top cooking where only the helper handle on my pans gets hot.
