According to the reviews it's hit or miss with this item. We've had the playset 6 months with no issues besides having to tighten the loops that hold the swing in place because my budgie liked taking it apart. Lol. Otherwise we have 2 parakeets which both use the item daily and it's held up well.

What material is the swing chain made of?

It is some sort of, I believe wood that has been smoothed out really well, My birds love it

Is this large enough for an eclectus parrot?

It fits our cockatiel and parakeets perfectly.
