This is the second Kworld TV tuner I've purchased. ...
This is the second Kworld TV tuner I've purchased. The first one is running on the same win 7 machine I'm using this one on. I was able to get the drivers for this from window's update. (a year ago the other device required me to go to the website and download the drivers) It comes with software for watching TV, I just opt to use Windows Media Center instead. One weird thing that happened is that WMC wouldn't allow me to use both tuners at the same time which is why I purchased a second tuner. I did the normal TV setup in WMC, and that only let me use one tuner at a time for some reason. I ran the setup a second time and this time manually added the tuners. Both tuners worked simultaneously after that. A third setup detected 2 tuners on its own. Weird bug, made the install take a little longer not an actual issue though.

Works fine with Windows Media Center on Windows 7 Pro.
Installation on my Windows 7 Pro desktop was ok. Everything installed that I needed. This is just about the TV and RECORDING capability. I did not test FM Radio or other features at this time. I installed the ArcSoft Total Media 3.5 and experimented with it watching TV and recording some shows. It worked fine. The software reminds me of the interface you get with a cable box. I did have a challenge with the attempt to record several shows in a row using separate schedules. 2 of the 4 recorded fine, of the other two, one had a small file with no images and the other was missing completely from the folder. Total Media did not reveal any errors and I suspect it was some unhandled exception in the software because of conflicting end-begin times or something like that. Do not expect the software to tell you much.I also installed Windows Media Center which instantly liked the TV Tuner. The software required a few settings which seemed to come with ease, the TV picture of live broadcast was excellent after the setup of the channels to antenna was complete. Everything worked as expected and I was able to successfully record several programs. I believe this is a better solution for successful use of the KWorld Hybrid TV Tuner as a DVR for your PC or Laptop. The Windows Media Center creates files with a .wtv extension which the software interface handles perfectly. I can also view .wtv files on my VLC player from VideoLan. A small glitch in the Live TV where sometimes you have to jog >| and |< sometimes to get the image flow started. I gave it 4 stars because it works for me, with flaws, the Windows Media Center is a slick, modern interface and the functionality seems be better than average.

KWorld Hybrid TV Tuner with FM Reception
Wasn't very pleased at all with this tuner. It had a lot of trouble programming TV channels and it locked up many times from just changing channels. Tried it on different computers and operating systems and it worked just as poorly on them.

I highly recommend you create a restore point with Windows before installing this. I installed this and for some reason it delayed my startup by 30 seconds. If I hadn't created a restore point I couldn't have undone what ever the software did. Uninstalling it did nothing to remove this delay to my start up.My laptop runs in 3200x1800. The software refuses to open in that resolution. I have to make several changes to even get it to run.Additionally, you have to have a CD drive to install this software. I tried going to the builders website but that doesn't work anymore.Absolute junk. I wish I could leave zero stars and get my hour and a half back messing with this pile.

OK unit, Hard to install....
You really need to be in IT Tech to install this on a Win 7 machine, it took me 3 hrs to finally get this installed (not very instillation friendly) on a WIN 7 Laptop. I had to install, re-install, uninstall, re-install several times before it finally took. In the end, I had to download the updated software from the very unhelpful website, open the device manager and manually force the drivers. it finally took hold and worked! Like others, make sure you are in a 2.0 port! not 3.0! my 3.0 ports are BLUE, 2.0 is black.I cant figure out if the remotes battery is dead, or if the remote is broken, but it does not work.Picture is really clear and I am sure with a better antenna it would pick up more Digital stations. I picked up about 27 stations in a Rural area of Phoenix (ok, about 12 that are NOT in a different language) This tuner does NOT have the capability of FM reception, and if it does, I have not found it yet and I played around with it for a couple hours after finally getting it installed. All in all, it's OK, I bought this for my travel trailer. Lets see how this works.

Great little all in one TV tuner!
This item has been amazing. I actually built it inside my very small form factor computer and I have never had any problems with it. It found all my HD channels just fine. The programs take a bit of time to get used to, but are definitely better than some other programs I have used. I have used the AV in feature to transfer some of my VHS movies into digital and it has worked well. I will warn all of you that when your recording from an HD channel thing thing uses a LOT of space on your hard drive. Around 10GB an hour, but the including video editing software does a decent job at removing commercials and downsizing them. Overall an excellent product for the price!

If it holds up, it's a steal.
Works wonderfully well. It replaced an old tuner of the no-name variety. Media Center does react a little differently to it, though you might have no way of knowing that, and while I'm on the subject, I found out the hard way that you apparently can't hook two tuners of the same variety to Media Center, so if you want to receive cable and over-the-air together, best buy two different brands. Nevertheless, for the money, about what I paid for my old tuner of four years, KWorld is far superior. Just be careful because it sticks out of the computer a bit more than you might like.
