Vegetarian fake meat
Been eating Companion vegetarian products for decades. Less pieces and more broth these days. The price also balloon. Back in the days used to be a competitive Chinese canned vegetarian product under Mei Lin brand.

Must have in pantry
Staple in pantry for days I’m too tired to cook. Wash rice, add water and a can of this mock duck, turn rice cooker on and half hour it’s dinner for under $6 for a family of 3. Add veggies and it’s a one pot dinner

If it does not look like a duck, and does not move like a duck and does not quack like a duck, it's not at duck.
If you are not already a vegetarian, please lower your expectations on taste. This is a wheat gluten product stored in salt water. It does NOT taste like duck and will not cook like duck. You have to marinate it in something, and being a wheat gluten product, it will absorb the flavor. Also it is already "cooked" so all you are doing is browning it a bit (it cooks as fast as veggies). It's chew is different than veggies and it's nice to have in dishes or skewers. If you want to eliminate meat from your diet, stuff like this will add a nice change of pace and it's healthy to eat. The trick is to know how to marinade it, and for how long to cook it. I keep a bunch of cans in our pantry and like it alot.

Waste of money!!! Extremely dented cans
I love the flavor and texture of this product, have ordered it many times but will never order it again. 5 out of 6 cans were ridiculously dented, the largest dents I’ve ever seen on a can. Obviously no care whatsoever went into packaging for shipment. They cannot be returned and replacement cans cannot be requested. Very frustrating and a total waste of money!

Meh
The cans were really beat up and everybody seems to have that issue but that doesn't really matter I guess since they're still edible in beat up cans. The texture isn't too bad and it really looks like duck when you stir fry it. The taste is a little weird as of my having tried to prepare one can so far. I'm not totally giving up yet on finishing the shipment but I didn't finish eating the first can after preparing it. With this sort of protein the first try not going well isn't necessarily the end. I'm hoping it just means I haven't found the best way to prepare it yet.Having said all this it's way overpriced.
