Knape & VogtShelf Supports Zinc Plated, (Pack of 100)

Over the years I have built many shelf units, mostly for our books, and used a lot of these shelf clips in the shelf standards that are made for them. I like having the option of adjusting the shelf spacing easily so it was a no-brainer to buy a lot of these when redoing some shelves we just bought at a thrift store that didn't have adjustable shelve. I like to keep a bunch of these on hand for possible projects.

Exactly what they say they are, except they are not black as the description says, which is good.

My husband and I were reshelving a small pantry. The original setup was barely functional and poorly constructed. We now have a much more modular system, and these shelf supports are an important part of that.Installing a few of them required the help of a pair of pliers, but the vast majority went in without any extra help beyond fingers. We have six of these supporting each shelf in the pantry (two on each of three walls - the fourth wall is actually a door). They are holding the weight very well, even on shelves that are absolutely covered in canned goods.Compared to the price for a set of 6 to 10 of these at the hardware store, this pack of 100 was an absolute steal. You may not need all 100 for your current project, but these are sort of like drywall screws - good to have on hand even if you don't use them but once every few years.We were really pleased to note that these do not feel thin or cheap. They are a comforting weight - you don't feel as if you have to worry they're going to give out under the weight. There's no sense that they're likely to break or bend or bow.These were an excellent value, and we're pleased to have them be part of our "new" pantry.

Given the sheer number of these for the price, I couldn't pass this up. I only needed 20-30 of these for two shelving units in our sitting room, but when you look around the internet and the improvement stores for comparable products, the prices are just outrageous. I also wasn't looking for painted supports either, so these were perfect. And, if you so choose to select colored supports, I would consider buying these, lightly sanding (for paint adhesion), and simply painting them.

First of all, in the end, I have to say I love them Exactly what I wanted. Very strong for my shelves that hold a lot of weight. But I must admit, at first, I was disappointed. But this is because I am an idiot and was putting them upside down. So after two weeks of shelves falling and supports popping out, I was getting frustrated. Being the adept handyman I am, I accidentally put the support "upside down" (right side up) and it worked!

I finally gave up looking for my shelf clips, that were carefully packed away 2 yrs. ago. Was about ready to remove all the shelf brackets and start over with new ones when I decided to look on line. Had no idea I was to find the clips so easily. I had one of the originals and was able to make out the name printed on it, Knape & Vogt. There they were right in front of me, ordered pack of 100 and received them a few days later. Thanks to Amazon, I was able to replace all my book shelves. Wish I had someone to replace all the books, the clips were easy.
