Arrived as described>
The sheath works perfectly and has plenty of ways to strap to either a belt or a ATV. Nice secure way to carry a Machete.

Not bad but not the greatest
Got this for my gerber gator machete so I could mount it on my pack like other reviews the plastic insert is a folded over rectangle of plastic that is opened on both ends so it will eventually cut threw also the snap to hold the machete in is to small for the gators handle

It's a machete holder.
My advice is to drill a drain hole in the bottom to allow the blood to drain out.

Poor design is an understatement!
It's really nice to have a MOLLE sheath, with a plastic insert for the Ontario GI Machete, D rings for strap connections, and pockets for sharpeners, etc. The problem with this sheath is horrible execution. I have no idea who designed this, but they should be immediately fired. The biggest problem is that the flimsy polymer insert doesn't cover the tip of the machete (the most important part to protect). The sheath is cheaply made, with obvious poor stitching. I doubt it would last long for someone who uses it regularly. The ONLY positive thing I'll say, is that the MOLLE webbing snaps were tight on the sheath I received. Rothco seems to be in a business situation where they aren't required to make improved sheaths, because they are contracted to the military. It's befuddling that there aren't more off-the-shelf sheath options, for arguably the most popular machete sold in the US. Rothco is pretty much all you get. I'm pretty sure it's on purpose, due to a military contract. If you plan to belt carry this machete, I suggest getting a Cold Steel 18" Latin Machete Sheath, which are still available for less $. I have several Cold Steel machetes. Their sheaths are excellent. The only negative about them is that they don't have an attachment point at the sheath bottom.

What a disappointment!
What can I say I was very disappointed when it arrived. I was expecting a much thicker stiffer material than, but instead its a pretty thin and feels like my machete will tear right through it after a couple of weeks. The Molle straps have way too much extra length. The strap for holding the machete in place is also way to long. I can almost pull the entire machete out without unsnapping first. It gets caught at the fattest part of the blade which is basically the end of the machete. I really dont understand the purpose of the plastic insert since it does nothing to protect the tip from going through and mine was in two pieces so its not going to keep the edge from cutting the sheath either. The sheath overall is way too big for OKC machetes it just flops around in there increasing the risk of the machete breaking through. This sheath is a great idea but it needs better materials and better quality control standards. If you just want something cool looking I guess this would work but I use a machete for work and this just isnt up to the standards it needs to be for field use. I might as well buy a cheap generic sheath and sew some straps on it. It would be cheaper and at least my machete wont fall out when its snapped in.
