Exactly What You're Looking For
So if you're like me you probably started looking around for cat fountains without really knowing much about them, just being familiar with the concept. It's always scary finding something for your pet that can affect their health, because it has to improve the problem (water consumption for cats) while also not making anything worse (dirty/scummy water.)I can say after spending over an hour of searching, reading reviews, watching videos, and educating myself on activated charcoal filtration systems, that this fountain is the holy grail of cat fountains. I'll outline some issues I saw people having with other fountains that led me to choose this one.Worms in the filter: Some lower-end fountains apparently have filters that lend themselves as nice habitats for worms or other bugs to lay eggs. This is not really possible with this fountain, which you'll realize once you see it. There's two filters, a small carbon filter that is always under the water, and a foam filter that goes around the inside of the little tower. They are both concealed at all times, and easily accessible when refilling, you just pull the tower off and you can inspect everything and make sure it's all clean. Don't be alarmed if there's a small ring around the water level when you first fill it, that's just some loose carbon from the new filter, it'll stop after a little while, and is completely harmless/odorless/tasteless.Noise Level: It's completely silent. 100% zero noise from anything mechanical. Sitting right next to it you can hear a small splash every 10-15 seconds. That's literally it. I plugged it in and I didn't even realize it had turned on at first because I couldn't hear it at all.Assembly: Very very simple. The pump sticks to the bottom of the bowl with some suction cups, and then you install the two filters and put the tower on top. Fill it and plug in and that's it!Appearance: Really nice, it's not even obvious right away that it's for an animal, it honestly looks like it could be a nice decoration depending on where you put it.Spare Parts: I'm not sure if this is even mentioned in the listing, but I was delighted to find that the fountain comes with one extra pump/motor, which is supposed to last for ~2 years anyway, as well as two extra carbon filters (3 total). The carbon filters are supposed to be replaced every 2-3 weeks, maybe longer if you only have one cat, like I do. So you have a pretty nice kit right from the start.Cleaning: It's porcelain so it's very easy to clean. You just take the tower out, then unstick the pump, and then the base + tower can go in the dishwasher if you want. I haven't needed to do that yet, I've just been rinsing out everything with tap water so far and it's been keeping pretty clean.Cat's Opinion: Every cat is different, so yours might have an issue for some reason. What I can say is my cat loves it, he can drink out of the lower basin and the tower no problem, and he's drinking a very healthy amount of water since we got it. He was a little weirded out at it at first but once he realized it was cool, gentle water he started to really like it.Bottom line, do your research and see what issues people have with other fountains. Then come back here and see that none of them apply to this one.

Breeze to clean and keep fresh, felines love it!
I LOVE this little fountain. When we adopted a friend's cat, we were gifted a hefty, stainless steel fountain with many parts. It got nasty fast, and cleaning it took half an hour every time. Only two of our four cats would drink from it, our new addition of course being the primary user. Finally the motor gave out on that old fountain and I was forced to shop for a new one.THIS fountain is everything I wanted for our four cats. Now three of them drink from it. These fur babies like to drink from the bathroom sink, so this little ceramic fountain is familiar to them. They can drink from the quietly bubbling fountain at the top, from the spouts at the sides, or lap from the sides of the inner fountain structure—I've seen them do all three. The bottom trough or moat is not wide enough for them drink from it, but that's fine, they like the running water anyway.Best two features for me, I can clean it thoroughly in under five minutes. I give it a good sudsing and rinsing and replace the water in no time at all. The second great feature is silence. I didn't mind that constant water-feature trickle of the old fountain, but the total silence of this fountain does turn out to be a bonus. We may get more of them to put around the house. It comes with a USB plug and its own brick, again making cleaning a breeze—pop the USB out of the brick and tip the fountain bowl into the sink. Clean, rinse, plug it back in. Unlike other (older model) fountains, there's no power adaptor which was a constant pain in my a@@ to deal with when I was cleaning, you have to keep it dry of course. It's really easy to keep that usb cable end out of the water.Really glad I made this purchse!

Filters are useless and fountain is hard to clean
I’m downgrading this to one star. After I submitted the negative review below, the seller contacted me and has been trying to give me a refund or send me things to take down my pictures. I reported them. I’m now adding another photo of a gross orange ring around the fountain when I didn’t use pre-filtered water. This showed up within 5 days of me washing to fountain. The good things are that it looks nice, is quiet and has water available if your power goes out. However, it's a real pain to clean. I got this because it's dishwasher safe, but it's such a process to take apart and you have to clean the filter by hand, so washing the ceramic part takes no time at all in comparison. I need a tool to wedge the plastic topper off the pump (you'll notice the video only shows her popping it on but not trying to pry it off!). This plastic part that tops the pump is also a pain to clean because it has a small, lopsided chamber that is impossible for a brush or a dishwasher to reach. I also need tweezers to get the propeller out because it is magnetized. My main complaint is that the filters are useless. They are a bag of carbon that does not fit the whole plastic case. Water finds the path of least resistance, so the carbon is just there for show. I can't find replacement filters for this particular fountain that will actually do anything.

Love this cat water fountain!
Great water fountain! I clean the fountain, and rinse thefilter & mesh holder week 1, then clean fountain & replace filter/mesh holder every 2-3 weeks. We've been using it for over a year. Its easy to clean, and my cats love it. It is also very quiet. It's the best fountain I've had in five years.

Not too bad and super cute
I would give this fountain 5 stars but for some reason I am constantly having to refill it, and I have not had to do that with my previous stainless-steel ones. I'm not sure if this is because it is ceramic or what the deal is. I really do like it I think it is super cute and very functional. It is easy to clean, and the filters are easy to put in. It is quiet which I love as well. The color looks exactly like the picture and my cats took to it as soon as I got it.
