Polare Men's Cowboy Genuine Natural Crazy Horse Leather Bifold Wallet (Small)

I just received my Polare Original leather bi-fold wallet and am impressed with the craftsmanship and durability of their product. I’m very particular with my wallets because they can be very cumbersome if they are not well made or designed, but this wallet exceeded my expectations. In one of my pictures you’ll see that the wallet comes in a nice sturdy box and includes a 1-year warranty! I doubt I will need to use it, but it’s nice to know that I have that option in case something happens to my new wallet. The wallet measures roughly 4.25” by 3.5” (or roughly ~10.5x9cm) It’s a good standard size. Not too large and fits in my pocket easily. When opened up, you’ll see that it has card holders in the front, and a clear card holder to the right for an ID. However, to me the best feature are the large bill pockets in the back. This wallet comes with three compartments. The first uses a zipper which is well made and doesn’t snag itself on any fabric. At first, I was weary of using this because I like to have easy access and see things in my wallet but found this is perfect for the spare change in my pocket! The next two bill pockets in the back are utilized for typical wallet items such as money. Another great feature is that Polare sewn an accordion like design for the rear bill pockets so if your wallet gets stuffed like mine does, it doesn’t warp the shape of your wallet. Lastly, the overall craftsmanship and ‘look’ of the wallet is great. I’m a simple guy so I like the look and feel of quality leather. I do think the stitching is fantastic and it’s certainly a wallet that will keep for many years vs cheaper quality goods that you need to replace after a year’s worth of use. Overall, I’d rate this product 5 stars. Between the craftsmanship, design, quality and price you’re getting a fantastic deal for a superb product from a company that backs it with a 1-year warranty. Having purchased other leather goods from Polare this definitely meets their highest standards and is a product I wholly recommend.

I was looking for a wallet to buy for my son that would allow him to carry his own money while travelling, as I am tired of trying to figure out whose money is whose when on vacation. Because of this, it was really important to me that the wallet have places for two different types of bills (Canadian and the foreign currency of wherever we are going) and be able to accommodate coins. This wallet fit the bill. Literally. My biggest concern in ordering this wallet was the two sizes. I wanted to make sure that Canadian bills would fit. I ordered the “small” wallet as it boasted a wider but not taller profile and Canadian bills are pretty wide. This was the right choice. Once it came, I tested the wallet immediately with every currency I had lying around and every one of them fit. The pictures above show which currencies I tested. The Japanese yen note was a little tall and you can see it sticking up above the bill area in the picture, but it doesn’t quite go above the top of the wallet so even in Japan, this wallet would work. Still, I can see why for taller bills used on a regular basis, the “large” (aka taller but not as wide) size may be better. The card slots won’t be used in our case, but for those wondering, they are quite wide and easily fit in my bank and credit cards from different banks as well as a care card with room to spare on the sides, so a larger card than this would fit. The windowed pocket is not super see through - it seems a bit hazy - but like some have said, this isn’t the worst thing because those completely see through plastics tend to get really soft in heat and kind of melt to your card, leaving marks from the card on the plastic once you peel it off. I don’t see that happening here. It also fit my drivers license, but the license was a bit tall and the top of it was above the top of the card slot. Not a big deal and would make getting the card in and out easier, but if you want a nice snug fit because you never plan to remove your driver’s license, this isn’t like that. It’s secure enough, but didn’t fit perfectly. As far as the coin slot goes, it is huge and the zipper works well. The only annoying thing is if you carry a lot of coins (and Canada uses a lot of coins), the larger ones like toonies can get stuck in the middle making it impossible to fold the wallet. It doesn’t happen often and mostly just requires a jiggle to move the coins around to get it to close, but I would have loved a partition that separated the sides of the coin pocket. This would have done two things. First, the wallet would close without a problem every time. And second, it would have facilitated the use of two currencies even better allowing you to keep your own coins in your wallet and still be able to use whatever local currency you are using abroad. This is especially nice when travelling in Mexico or on a cruise where you can tip in many different currencies, making Canadian change a viable tipping option. Overall, I am really happy with the wallet and even happier with the size I ended up choosing. Hopefully my son will feel the same while we travel around, since he will be the one using it.

The cowboy style leather on this wallet is excellent quality, as is the stitching. There is room for 3 credit cards, plus an ID window. Even fully loaded it folds nice and thin, even though it has a zipper compartment included. This is because of the flat pull on the zipper. At the same time, it has plenty of room to expand if you pack it full of things. A nice feature is that it is designed so that when you open it, the inside pockets automatically spread, making it easy to access any bills or other paper items you have in it. It comes nicely packaged, wrapped in a cloth-like bag inside a quality box, which would make it a great gift item. Overall, this is an excellent wallet, I highly recommend it.
