Great base. This magnet on the bottom is very strong and holds my iPhone 7 easily (the socket piece on the phone is a different story) , but that is another review. This also has a soft silicone ring on the bottom to prevent the mount from scratching whatever surface it is attached too. I like this base mount better than the regular steelie because you can take it from your car to your truck, to your tool box, to the golf cart or wherever you need it. The base magnet is plenty strong to hold a phone vertical without slipping at all.

Sticks to ferrous metals, phone ring sticks to it. Costs twice as much as one would think reasonable. Works like one of those phone knobs women seem to like when not stuck to something else. Women like knobs though.
