Absolutely fantastic diagnostic scan tool for the money. I would caution that it's not for the entry level user. Significant automotive knowledge is needed to really make this tool shine. However, for the more seasoned techs, this scan tool is easily twice the tool trucks $3k models, and less than 1/3 the price. Yearly update subscription (full, they have options for less) is also half the tool truck guys.*UPDATE*I hate to do this, because the software is fantastic, BUT, extremely poor customer service. A week ago I broke the wireless gateway (VCI) due to my own clumsiness. Totally my fault, so I need to purchase a new 1. The scan tool is absolutely worthless without it, and the VCI is hardware paired to the scan tool, so a universal product from another seller is not an option. I have yet to recieve any response to my repeated pleas to their customer service department. Bombing this review is my last ditch effort to get someone, anyone from Launch customer service to respond.2nd update:With the assistance of Amazon, I was finally able to contact this seller. Will give a final update and star rating once we have resolved the current issues.Final:After some back and forth with customer service, everything is being handled. The customer service has been good, just really difficult to reach on the onset. With the function and reliability of the tool, the ongoing updates, I'm more than thrilled to rate at 5 stars, despite the problems obtaining a replacement part.

So I’ve read some reviews from people that say the system is hard to navigate and find what your looking for. I say this… my 14, 18,and 20 year old that help me in the shop could use it just find. If you get in a hard shop the technical support is on point and get back to you very quickly if you don’t get a tech idiom immediately. My 18 Year old pulled trouble codes on a 2016 Fiat 500x and used the diagnostic feature found what was wrong and printed out everything she did for the customer. We are a small custom garage, so this really took us to the next level. Having worked for Ford and Chevy dealers in the passed, I would put this on part with Snap-on which is normally the best out there. I finally got to play with it and downloaded all the modules for it and it has every vehicle I would ever need. The cost for the updates are less than I have had to pay for lesser equipment, let alone Snap-on’s. I think that this is the right pick over just about anything else, including Harbor Freights version, which is much more cumbersome that this unit. We love it and it has helped us take my apprentice mechanic to the next level of competence.

I was specifically looking for a unit that had McLaren OE coverage. You can add to this unit for $100 from the Mall. It is not 100% capability, but better than most. Lowest cost McLaren coverage out there. You can't reset everything, so may still need a shop with OEM scanner, but can do most.Meanwhile, also use it on Mini, Ford, Honda, auto scanning/clearing codes is very fast and easy for most cars. Big timesaver. Overkill if you are not a DIY or shop mechanic, but great for us gearheads without spending a fortune.And you also have a useful Android tablet which can be used when at track days for anything. Can't make phone calls, but can get on any open internet (I use tethering to phone hot spot when no other internet around).Warning, for complete TPMS support you will need the separate wand, found mine for $125 on Amazon. Easy to use with the main unit. I am trying to set TPMS to stop low pressure error codes when at track days running lower pressure. Launch should make this whole TPMS aspect more clear for buyers.

Well, this is a first by direction scanner I’ve ever bought I like it so far I feel it’s a good tool for the money I would buy it again haven’t used tech-support yet, so I’m not really sure about that

Launch X431 PROSV has been a great diagnostic tool for me and the tech support has been unbelievably reliable and quick to answer/address any issues and questions. There are updates for the various vehicles almost daily it seems and system/performance improvements have beensteady and have definitely improved the tool.I used this x431 scanner to set how the door lock of my Toyota Highlander behaves when the car is in motion or parked -- that saved me some money by not having to pay the dealer to performit.ln addition to those things, the scan tool is a fully functional scanner with bidirectional controls for all sorts of items like fans, windows, chimes, instrument clusters, and a ton of other items that you're bound to run into in a professional setting.Ok I'm just saying this tool is awesome

Excellent value for the money. It analyses a lot of the fonctions of different systems of the car. I was able to identify and erase a faulty code appearing on the dashboard. Client services was awesome. They shipped me the two free items after I passed my order. Highly recommended!
