Excellent monitor
Image quality excellent. Flexibility of controls and inputs excellent. Can purchase two for about the price of the Apple 32โ XDR monitor, though the asus has more flexible inputs and pc output handling. The Apple XDR monitor requires using a DSC enabled adapter to get 6k from a PC. Make sure to mute the display volume if youโre using separate speakers, as this monitor has small speaker(s) built in. The buttons feel a bit cheap for the price of this display. There is a fan inside the monitor that starts after viewing bright scenes at the default max brightness setting. Thatโs louder than my pc. Too bad this doesnโt have the nice aluminum heat sink ala the Apple XDR monitor.

Too many bugs and quirks
Not at all friendly on MacOS. For an HDR screen, I wouldnโt expect a giant white ghost to follow the mouse pointer when using apps in dark mode. Several combinations of settings result in the screen just displaying a giant RGB grid. Often requires rebooting and reconnecting for the screen to show correct contents. Extremely slow to startup. This isnโt a hassle free reference monitor.

It could have been great!
I really tried to like this monitor. The monitor refused to "wake" when the computer does (Mac Studio). The user must manually force the monitor to come to life each time the screen goes to sleep. I could have lived with that. However, the color calibrator that comes with the monitor was announced as obsolete by the manufacturer in early 2025, with ALL support ending on Dec 31, 2025 (18 days before I opened the calibrator) I knocked off one star for the monitor wake up issue, and 1 star for sending obsolete hardware.

Perfect picture, colorful.
Perfect picture, colorful. Like Apple XDR Pro may be better too hard to compare. But Pro Display XDR is 6k resolution 60Hz only and price $5300

Bad packaging
Expensive monitor that came in loose packaging. Cracked screen, separated backing and doesnโt work. Whomever packaged this needs to get fired.

Picture quality is superb
Never liked Asus' way of controlling OSD, with multiple choices which are sometimes hard to find.

Massive Firmware Issue
Make sure you upgrade to the newest firmware. When I first used it, it had a bunch of problems. After the latest firmware I use, there are still many issues. First, Hardware Calibration does not work on macOS; you need to find a Windows Computer. The HDR is not available through TH4 on M1 Max MacBook (Connect through TH4 to TH4 Cable or TH4 to DisplayPort Cable); Macbook's HDMI does work for HDR, but HDMI2.0 on MacBook does not support 4K @120. But none of them can send 10bit information. It has been locked on 8bits. Someone reported that it could be fixed via modifying EDID information on the system. It seems like the monitor reported incorrect EDID information to macOS, Hope it could be fixed in a future FW update. And Dolby Vision on Xbox does not support 4K@120Hz, and enabling DV function on the monitor will disable 4K 120. To switch back, you need to reboot the monitor so that Xbox will recognize it. Currently, DV 4K 120Hz, you can only pick two of them. I hope the EDID issue can be fixed in the future so we can use HDR/10Bit with M1 Max MacBook.

Amazing except for terrible input lag
The screen is fantastic, but gaming is impossible with 55ms input lag.
