Viori Native Essence Shampoo Bar Made with Rice Water - Handcrafted All Natural Shampoo Bars - Sulfate Free

First time ever using this method of shampooing hair. I bough both shampoo and conditioner of this brand. I was skeptical but then i tried it. I can tell you it lathers up quite nicely, doesn't require obcessive rubbing of the bar to get the suds started in my hair, smells nice and after rinsing and drying my hair not only felt clean it also felt healthy, moisterized and was shinny with no frizz. I will be buying again. UPDATE ... this is a couple more days after a washing and my hair still feels good, smells good and has minimal shedding. That is a miracle.

I discovered Viori, about two years ago and I've been using their products ever since. I really like their story and mission, so I totally want to support that. I also like that their products are free from all the bad stuff, and they used sustainable materials to make their packaging also. Their packaging are also very aesthetically pleasing and unique!! I am starting to really love this brand also, they have different collections and different products for different hair types also. I personally do not experience any hair concerns, since I am also very particular when it comes to my hair care products. So I only use the best stuff. I have purchased mostly their bar shampoo, and a few bars of the conditioner, body scrubs, and even dry shampoo (it was part of a larger bundle that I purchased directly from their website) Their bamboo bar holder was also very cute and well made! They are so cute, and I believe, you need to "cure the bamboo" first, before you use it, since bamboo needs to be treated before using. I love this scent from their collection the most, others who are more sensitive to fragrance, might find it to be strong, but for me, it was perfect, the musky, vanilla scent was perfect, it leaves my hair lightly scented after washing. I personally have fine hair, but also a lot of hair, but after using these shampoo bar, I feel that my hair has thicken/strengthen also, where I don't shed as much after showering. I do not have any other skin or hair concern like some other people, never experience dry or itchy scalp either, since I wash my hair everyday, so my scalp are pretty clean. I can't not washing my hair, because I do not want any buildup, since I have long hair also. I just like having clean, healthy hair and want to keep it that way. I can feel that my hair has gained some volume and that my hair has thicken also. I also love their moisturizing/repair shampoo bar, not that my hair is damage or anything, I just wanted to try out the different scents they have, because they all have been amazing so far! But this one is my favorite, because it work. I also want to address for those who said that sometimes bar shampoo soap doesn't lather as well as liquid shampoo, that is false. Maybe they just don't even know how to properly prepped their hair before shampooing. I personally rinsed and get my hair really well, then run this shampoo bar under water, before I apply it over my scalp, and work it in circular motion to make sure I cover all the bases, within a few seconds, my hair was very well lathered, then I put the bar back into its container, and I really work the lather and foam into my scalp and hair. These shampoo bar actually lathered quite well, better than I would have imagined, so I was very please. Plus, one bar, last me up to 3-4 months and I do wash my hair every single day!! I believe, what's more important is, that I keep my bar dry and away from "moisture" so I put it in a close container after each wash, so water doesn't get into it, which could melt away my shampoo bar either. I have recommended these shampoo bars to my friends as well, because sharing is caring. :)

Hello people, this may be a little lengthy, I'm sure those who value their hair would consider reading. Now, to begin I ordered both bars individually, the first picture shows the shampoo bar package on the left and on the right the conditioner bar package. Shampoo Bar Hidden Waterfall: I'm going to break it down as easy as possible. Lathering was a 9/10, the scent itself is like a grandma who knows what's up and comes to the family function smelling good. I personally have no issue with it, I use products that covers up that scent anyways. How did it make my hair feel? Well I must say it made my hair feel soft, my hair did feel clean, I do use grease for my hair and the shampoo bar performed well with washing that away. Conditioner Bar Hidden Waterfall: This one was very interesting, I would like to highlight the texture because I feel that's the most important thing when using it just so you make sure you wash it out completely. With my other conditioner which is in a bottle, It would be very sudsy so I was a bit confused when the conditioner bar by Viori wasn't, I did my research and I found that some conditioners have surfactants while others have cationic surfactants, the difference is in the foaming, conditioners with surfactants foam more and conditioners with cationic surfactants foam less while still performing its job. That is why I indicated the texture because the feel of it is quite noticeable which can be very helpful when applying and ready to rinse. overall I would give it an 9/10 only because of the scent. Now the next two pictures, shows my hair after I washed it, that is clearly my hair type (someone told me I had moana hair) so I can't tell whether it will work for all hair types but just like the saying goes, you will never know unless you try it. The last picture is how much hair fell out, which wasn't that much, its mostly due to the brush I use (I have a pretty good brush) but I must say it's a HUGE improvement from recent years. May the force be with y'all. 🫡 *edit - hello again, I returned the item, ONLY because of the scent, it gradually became irritating but I still like this product, I just wish it smelled completely different. I still highly recommend, especially for those who aren't sensitive to certain smells.

I ordered this bar Sept. 8 2022, and I still have about a 1/3 of the bar left, but I feel I’ve used it long enough to leave a thorough review. First, I started out with a pixie haircut, have an oily scalp, thin hair at the crown, but incredibly thick hair from the occipital bone to the nape. TLDR: Don’t use the bar as frequently as they suggest or you will overload your hair with protein, making it brittle enough to break off. Always lather the bar in your hand, not on your scalp. It smells great, and my hair grew faster than normal, even they they don’t advertise it for hair growth. Onto the review. If you read comments, you’ll see everything from rave reviews to people saying that their hair is falling out or brittle. When I first bought the bar, I used it every two days like one of the images for the product showed. I was losing hair because it was SO brittle. I was adding too much protein to my hair by washing with viori so frequently (rice water does a decent amount of protein building from what I understand). So I switched to using the bar once every week and a half, which was more suitable for my fine hair. The rest of the time when I washed my hair I used a moisturizing shampoo bar (HiBar), which I had been using for nearly a year before. I saw a great improvement in both the strength and length of my hair. In three months my hair grew 2.5 inches. It may not sound like much to some, but that is much faster than usual hair growth for me. Another important thing I learned is that I HAD to lather the bar vigorously in my hand before swiping gently over my hair. Rubbing the bar into my scalp caused the finer hairs around my face to fall out. So I made sure my hair was really wet, I had a thick lather in my hands, and then I swiped both my “soapy” hand and the bar gently over my hair. No more hair loss! Yay! This shampoo bar smells fantastic while you use it, with a lovely citrus scent. However, the smell doesn’t linger once your hair dries. It lathers well, and, when used in what I view as the “proper” way, it will last ages. I’ve had mine for 6 months and seem to have a few more months left with it.

This shampoo was recommended by several female coworkers. This is a 10/10 product! Immediately noticed my hair feeling so much healthier. It makes my hair soft and feel full while being moisturized and soft. I feel like my hair is much more manageable as it was thin and dry, easily knotted, and now it’s the opposite. I only use this bar shampoo and my husband loves it even more! Completely got rid of his dandruff and the appearance when you receive it is so cute! This bar is 110% effective, great value for your money, and worth trying out! I know everyone is different so it may take a week or 2 before noticing but if you use a lot of chemicals previously I feel like you’ll notice sooner than later.

I love this. Tried it because I’m tired of plastic bottles - but wasn’t sure how it would work. I just rub the bar against my scalp in places around my head, the lather is great, the scent is lovely, and my hair is really soft. 10/10 would recommend. It also seems like it will last for awhile. (I’ve only been using it a week or so but it still seems like a new bar).

Updated: I used the shampoo and conditioning bars for about 4months from December to the end of March. I kept feeling like my hair was never clean towards the end and I was having a ton of breakage/irritation on my scalp. My sheen definitely faded too. I also felt like I was having more hair loss. I realize there are a lot of factors that go into hair such as hormones, diet, and styling, but after switching to the Raw Sugar brand shampoo and conditioner for a about a month my hair feels sooo much healthier again and I don’t have to wash it but once or twice a week. I think if you’re switching to bars because you have a strong conviction about packaging/sustainability these are probably your best option. If you’re looking for something that will do miracles for your hair, these probably aren’t it. It really depends on your motivation and what you want out of a hair care product. I feel like I was able to find a good compromise with the new brand of liquid shampoo and conditioner I switched to that is less processed but still gives me the hair health and feel I’d like. I tried to find a good picture as an example, but I was wearing my hair up all the time because it was so greasy! I have pretty sensitive skin and my scalp was normally irritated, especially in the winter time. I’ve been doing some research (as you do these days) and what it takes to make soap liquidity takes a lot of transformation, chemicals, and stabilizers, so I thought maybe a shampoo bar would be better. Honestly I was skeptical and thought I might have just spent 30 something dollars (got the conditioner bar too) on snake oil for my hair, but I have been genuinely impressed. My hair is not only less greasy but it feels stronger, looks healthier, and my scalp doesn’t itch anymore. It’s been a month since I purchased with 2-3 shampoos each week. I’ll be buying these from now on.

I have autoimmune disease and have been struggling with awful hair fall due to medication. The shampoo I used previously was from Lush, and I really like that shampoo, but honestly it doesn’t measure up to these bars! I went on the hunt for a new shampoo as I was reaching the end of my Lush products. I saw that these were on sale, and had ofc seen all the ads for a year or so now, but with the sale price and reviews I decided to give it a try. I have short hair (guy) and it is not overly oily or dry, I’d say it falls in the “normal” category, although I do dye it to change things up every few mos. Anyway, I waited a full two months before giving this review to get an idea of how the products truly worked, but I honestly noticed a difference within the first few weeks. My hair fall is way less noticeable than before; it’s normal now not excessive, my hair is thicker, it is shinier, and all around just feels healthier. It styles a lot easier! The shampoo cleans effectively without over drying or stripping. I fully saturate my hair then lather up the bar on my hand (I put them in hair bar nets you can find those separate), and then work into my hair. I like to repeat it and lather twice with the product to get a full lather then work it thru and then rinse. I use the conditioner bar, and a little goes a long way. That bar is gonna last me forever. I’ve used about 1/4 of the shampoo bar as I wash every day, but compared to a bottle it’s still gonna last me longer I think than usual. Either way, definitely worth it. I hang both bars to dry in their nets on shower hooks after us. My hair color isn’t fading excessively and seems to last well also, as I use a Demi permanent product not permanent. The non-sale price is pretty steep but I just watch for sale days and that’s when I buy, I would say it’s worth the price though given its effectiveness, and I love the scent as well. It’s light and smells great without being overly perfemey. I just bought 3 more bars at $9 during a sale as stocking stuffers for my sis and mom as I just love these so much, and the third ofc as backup for me when my current bar is done. I also bought another conditioner bar cause I couldn’t pass up the price. Definitely gonna keep using! I’m glad to eliminate the plastic waste that comes with shampoo & condish bottles anyway, plus the packaging is really quite lovely. I’ll add that I take methylfolate daily to help with hair loss given my medications, per my doctors orders, but I def noticed a difference in my hair fall with this product! 10/10

I usually buy rice water shampoo bars, however I decided to try this shampoo bar fir a change. It leathers well, has a fresh citrus fragrance and my hair feels very soft after using it. Although it doesn't give the volume if a rice water shampoo bar, I would purchase this type of shampoo again.

I knew about the rice benefits for the hairs, and as an old lady, I was in desperate needing of a solution to my problem. My gray hairs still long, but they were getting thinner, dryer, they were breaking easily and I was losing too much of them. After a long search on Internet, I found that manufacturer. I was about to order directly from them the product type that was dedicated to my hair problem and, surprise, I also found it here, on Amazon, with an approximate same price, but with the faster Prime delivery, that to say that I did not hesitate another second, and I ordered. I’m delighted having doing it Only after a few shampoo and conditioner, I would say a dozen, my hair started to show a true improvement : they have more body, they are easier to comb because they no longer tangle, they are less dry and more resistant and they start to grow again. What else can I say ?... To name some other strong qualities of their products, I will mention that I believe they are truly natural for I do have a severe allergic reaction to the regular market chemical beauty products (what I already mention in some other reviews when I miraculously found some true natural essential oils) , including shampoos and conditioners. Even the smell does not bother me, on the contrary. I find it marvellously pleasant, so marvellously pleasant that I would spend hours in the shower every time that I use it. What a change ! I’m not intending to convince anybody here, every human being is different and everyone will react differently toward a product. The only way to know if it is good for us is to try it, and that is what you gone have to do. But as far as I’m concern, I’m sold. I love the result, I truly enjoy the touching of it on my fingers and my hairs... and I love the smell ! It is a five star.

Leaves my hair so strong and healthy. Unlike other shampoos I’ve used like olaplex they’re good but over time it makes my hair limp. This shampoo bar hasn’t done that so far and instantly gets my hair so healthy and free of build up. Really recommend to anyone. Smells good and also like that it doesn’t disintegrate when left in the shower. Takes a sec to lather but once it does it’s really rich and foamy
