The best book of cocktails I’ve read since Schumann’s American Bar. It’s very different, of course, but nothing else has excited me by the potential of the cocktail and it’s momentary glimpse of the sublime.

Nick Coldicott is a long-time resident of Tokyo and a friend of mine. He not only loves cocktails and sake, but also the people who sustain the entire bar industries here. This book shows his love and dedication. You will learn great cocktails recipes and history/culture behind them. He is an excellent writer with a fantastic sense of humor. This book will be a great gift to your friends as well as a useful companion to your trip to Tokyo.

Thoroughly researched that must have required at least two liver transplants. On top of that, it’s well written with a touch of wit by a Brit, beautifully photographed and put together which includes signature cocktail recipes, and small enough to carry around with you and explore Tokyo’s cocktail bar scene.
