Water will bead after the protectrant is applied. As with any convertable top the canvass will get wet but it beads up at first and last a couple months. The cleaner work good but doesn't completely remove mldew stains. Go to your manufactors web site for deeper cleaning instruction then follow up with Ragtopp. Hartz canvess recommends: For more stubborn cases, mix a solution of no more than 1/2 cup (4 oz or 120 ml) standard household bleach (3-8% Sodium Hypochlorite solution; Clorox/Dan Klorix brand or similar) and 1/4 cup (2 oz. or 60 ml) RAGGTOPP Cleaner per gallon (3.8 liter) of water. Let the solution soak into the roof material for approximately 20 minutes and scrub lightly as indicated above (excessive soaking with the bleach solution can deteriorate seam threads). Rinse thoroughly to prevent streaking on painted and chrome surfaces. Additional cleanings may be necessary.

is the cleaner necessary?

I have been using the cleaner and protective spray for the two years I've owned my new car. The car is kept out side year round in all weather. It is specially subject to bird droppings. The dealership can't believe the car is not garaged. My car is washed weekly and the detailers say the cleaner is the best they have ever used on convertible tops new or old.

I have a volvo that has a navy blue ragg top. Will this product work for that color, or is it only for black ragg tops?

Protectant needs a bit more time to complete, I just did it in the garage out of the wind and direct sun. 3 coats, half a can and wiping up the overspray after each application. Did not rub it in. Looks good- we'll see how long it beads. /RZ
