Background painting, design transfer, and different stitch uses are provided by the author. Author Ann Cox provides easy to follow step-by-step instructions that include needle art plus ribbon silk paint enhancements of ribbons to be used for embroidery. Hoops, frames, needles, paints, threads, ribbons and fabrics are thoroughly discussed and illustrated for the reader, too. I highly recommend this informative, visually appealing book that elevates silk ribbon flower embroidery to another level. Well worth the price paid for this book, as it will be used time after time. This one is a keeper! So are my other embroidery books by Ann Cox! The book arrived in great condition, quickly and was again, a delight to view, read and own. Thank you desertcart, for offering this great publication to your customers. Review: Exquisite examples of silk flowers - Stunning example of the use of silk ribbon floral embroidery. She has advanced beyond her previous work. There are instructions about materials and techniques such as silk painting as well as the floral stitches. Each flower is given two or more pages with a pattern for that flower exclusively. Most of us will never attempt these. Most flowers are embroidered in white ribbon, then painted on the fabric. This is complicated. I tried and ended up with silk paint all over the base. Ribbon tension is vital. You need a hoop that stands on its own, because each stitch takes 3 hands. Plan to put a million stitches into those lilacs! My only criticism is that I would have preferred to see some patterns for various arrangements consisting of different flowers into wreaths, bouquets, or sprays rather than the single flower patterns.

Beautiful book
The designs are beautiful and the photography is excellent. There are designs for the beginner, intermediate and advance skill levels. Each project is shown in actual size with a few close-up shots. The instructions are clear and there is plenty of room to express your own creativity and still get beautiful results. My only complaint is that the templates in the book are all half size (or smaller) which means you have to copy them at 200%. This makes it difficult to trace the designs. Overall this is an excellent book for technique and inspiration.

What a great book!
I purchased this book because I liked the cover and what I could look inside. This book is more for the novice than a beginner. The instructions for the flowers are written in detail with a large photo of the finish flower. The book does show step by step photos and close up photos at the beginning. What I love best is the painting instructions for flowers. The steps are great and easy to follow. This is a great book to have.

Silk Ribbonwork Moves to a Whole New Level
This book is fabulous. Bravo!! Ann Cox's work has given me a whole new look at ribbonwork . . . which I've always loved . . . but now I'm excited about starting my next project TODAY!! The 'Painting Ribbon' section has encouraged me to try creating my own ribbon colors as well as add details to enhance ribbon florals to create even more natural effects on the finished project. Stitch instructions are clear and with the photos you can't miss in creating the stitches on the first try. This book is loaded with solid instruction and more 'inspiration' than I've seen in a crafting book in years. Again, Ann Cox, BRAVO!!

A-Z of silk Ribbon Flowers
This is a lovely book that is beautifully illustrated with excellent photography. There are no shy photographs in this book. You can see exactly how the finished flowers looks. What I find unusual and particularly helpful, the illustrations. The illustrations are numbered and lettered as to where to place your needle. A novice should not be overwhemled with the beautiful ribbon flowers. The beginning of the book provides basic information to get you started.

Painting silk ribbon is a highlight of this book
My interest in getting this book was to learn to paint silk ribbon. There was information about how to do this, yet no comparison showing some various methods mentioned--that is, acrylic fabric paints vs. silk seti fabric paints. I was able to find more information at a vendor's site. I have tried several of the silk ribbon stitching methods and found them to be first rate. There were some very interesting and new (to me) stitching methods. I would recommend this book if you wish to expand the versatility of silk ribbon.

Excellent detail and Description
Compared to some of the other books I have, this book has excellent pictures and description. I was looking for something with a "little more", along with a few flowers I did not know how to embroider, and that is exactly what I got. All of her flowers come with a pattern, which pleasantly surprised me. Well worth the money!

I am just a beginner at this lovely creative embroidery, but this book will help me to develop my skills. It is beautifully illustrated and comes with lots of instructions about this craft and how to improve. It is easy to understand and has star markings to show the basic up to more complicated work. I am looking forward to many hours as I go through the alphabet! It arrived in good time and well packaged. Excellant value for money.

Ovviamente scritto in inglese, descrive passo passo le tecniche di ricamo a nastro di seta nonchè di pittura dello stesso.
