The Chinese-made stand is poorly designed or constructed - Epic says their pictures are wrong
You can see from the image that the top plate of the stand has a huge gap between it and the arms of the stand. There's no gap between the top plate and the arms shown in the stand depicted on Amazon or on Epic Fitness' website (as of 6/12/2023).It doesn't take a mechanical engineer to recognize that the bottom of the plate is meant to rest on the top of the arms, which reduces the likelihood of the arms pivoting if the bolts come loose. It's clearly a manufacturing defect.But Epic Fitness doesn't want to take responsibility for it. When we asked them about this issue, their response was: "You have this assembled correctly. The images online are computer-generated so they won't always show the intricacies of a hand-welded piece like that." In other words, the guy who machined the top plate messed up.The dumbbells are fine and the only reason why this gets two stars.
