EPAuto Spill Proof Radiator Coolant Filling Funnel Kit

If you like to work on cars and have ever drained the radiator fluid, you may have encountered this problem. Changing a radiator hose, thermostat, or even a water pump means you WILL have to refill the cooling system. Because of all the passageways, elevation changes and turns the fluid has to make to fill the system, you WILL get air trapped somewhere inside the block. Thermostats do help with this problem because they don't open until the fluid gets warm, so air can get stuck behind it waiting. The air behind the thermostat takes longer to heat up which slows down the "open" process. This is where this "coolant filling funnel" comes into play. With multiple radiator cap sizes included in the kit, you can find the right to mount the funnel to your vehicle. After you have MADE SURE everything is in place and tight you can start adding the recommend coolant mixture to your radiator. The great thing about this funnel is, it doesn't matter if you overfill it, it is actually better if you do. Once the system is filled?????, start the motor and let run for a few minutes. As the motor warms up, so will the fluid and the thermostat will open. Somewhere during this time, you should start seeing bubbles or "BURPS" come up thru the funnel. Let your car reach the normal driving temp and check the fluid in the funnel, you still want some in it. At this time, you can give the motor a light tap on the gas pedal to bring the idle up a bit, this will help get the fluid moving in the block. After about 10 minutes you can turn the car off. The kit comes with an orange "TEE" plunger, this gets pushed into the hole in the bottom of the funnel. Now you can remove the cap mount from the radiator filler and lift off the funnel without spilling fluid everywhere. Make sure to install the original radiator cap back on the radiator before you take the vehicle for a test drive. If you own a Subaru, this kit is an absolute MUST HAVE, they are very sensitive to air trapped in the system. This does not mean there is a problem, it just means Subarus have different tolerances than other vehicles. Like a new born baby after it gets it milk, they need to burp, so does your coolant system.

Great tool its a lil on the lower quality side but it works, idk where Iv been without it very convenient. So comented that there was no o ring for the adapter but it is all on how you put it together, follow the dirrections, and only fill about halfway if your burping the system mine overflowed lol oops.

I was skeptical that this unit would remove air from my coolant system on my Jeep Wrangler. But being patient (about 20 minutes), I started seeing air bubbles. I had air stuck in the system from changing out a thermostat and it ran fine for about a month. Now it started overheating so I thought it was air stuck in the system. I used this product but putting about 10oz of antifreeze in the funnel and ran the vehicle at idle. Air bubbles escaped once the engine heated up. I used the plunger to keep the antifreeze from spilling out of the funnel and it fit perfect. Good quality for the price and worked great! Vehicle is not overheating!

Worked flawlessly!!! Im been a auto mechanic for many years!! Wish I had gotten one years ago. Definitely helps with removing trapped air after repairs. Minimizes unnecessary coolant loss and ultimately keeps the work area cleaner !! Definitely recommend.

Great kit! Does what it says.Pros:- Many adapters to accommodate many vehicle types.- Solid build quality.- Overfill plug to return excess coolant to container was flawless perfection.Cons: The adapter for my car was machined perhaps a bit too close to perfect tolerance, could not get it on my radiator fill port without bending the flanges on the adapter slightly. It still worked perfectly, but needing to modify the tool for basic use does pull off a star for me.Otherwise, a great product, definitely recommend, just be ready to make some modifications if fittings happen to be slightly too tight to fit.

Easy to use and little mess. After seeing other reviews about this product I had to give it a try. Several adapters to fit any or most vehicles, and the plunger to remove the container without spilling is fantastic. I was able to get the rest of the air out of my system with this and the car runs great.

Just finished the coolant drain and fill for the highlander 2017 AWD. It fits well and no leak. I took a photo when testing the fitting before starting the job but forgot the take a photo with fluid.

Works beautifully. No complaints. Came with a variety of sizes, I personally used it on a 98 civic. No instruction but it’s relatively easy to figure it out. The fittings were good, no leakage. Was burping my cooling system and found that I had a blown head gasket. Yay 😀. But overall the product does its job.
