Simple, easy to store, brilliant cooker!
The steamer is simple to use and simple to store, you can easily dismantle the 3 tiers and put it away when you are done using it so it takes less space to store away. It's simple to use and compartments are dishwasher safe. Produces delicious food that doesn't lack nutrients. You can easily make a meal just by using the 3 tiers which will save you time. The only concern is that if you are using spices that can stain the plastic such as paprika or curry it will stain the plastic but it doesn't hinder the effectiveness of the product. Its relatively quiet and effective little cooker that produces healthy meals and I'm very happy with mine!

Great Product!
We use this product on a daily basis. It has a large well for water with a powerful steam function that cooks vegetables beautifully so you do need to check the water capacity regularly to make sure it doesn't dry out. The three tiers are more than ample for lots of vegetables but equally still enough space when using one layer for two people.Sturdy and well built, and compacts for storage.Overall really great product and the best steamer we have used to date, and feel it is good value for your money.

Great product.
This is a great steamer. We use the first two tiers for steaming vegetables. They cook well within 20 - 30 minutes.

Easy to store
I bought this as a replacement for my Tefal Steam Cuisine bought several years ago but now at the end of its life (leaking and clock unreliable). I have had a good few years of service from it though. When choosing a new steamer it had to be one that was compact so it would fit on the cupboard shelf and this seemed to be the only one that 'stacks down'. I've been using it for over a week now and I am getting the hang of the differences between this and the old model. The baskets are much more robust and seem to be bigger. However, there are some 'niggly' changes which are not as good as the old model. The power light is not very bright and the minute markers on the timer have gone. In fact the whole timer could be more accurate especially when steaming vegetables such as cabbage and french beans. There are three holes in the lid which are rather large and a lot of steam escapes. Looking at the instructions (pictures only) it seems the lid can be used as a stand for the baskets but I'm not sure how this works and don't want to try too hard in case it breaks. I do like the way I can hide it in a cupboard when not in use and it seems to cook food ok. I've yet to try dumplings in it and I'm hoping it will be easier to clean than the old one. (Fat from dumplings used to get stuck in the basket holes and of course had to be cleaned carefully from the drip tray.) Why has Tefal changed some of the good points on the old model? eg not as easy to grasp at each side when lifting up into the cupboard. I'm sure I will get used to it though.

Knocks other steamers of a similar type into a cocked hat
Many years ago we had one of the earlier versions of this steamer and it lasted many, many years the only downside with the original one being that the plastic of the tiers would craze. This model uses a different type of plastic for the tiers so that should not be a problem. When our old one gave up the ghost, we searched high and low in the shops for a new one from Tefal and couldn't find one so we purchased two others from different manufacturers - they were hopeless, used to dribble water over the worktop and one make we had three of because they kept breaking in a very short time (three under warranty)When I saw this one by Tefal on Amazon, I immediately placed an order and it is fantastic.Like our old one, it works, no mess, no fuss, easy to use (an added feature with this one that wasn't on the old one is the ability to top up the water reservoir without removing the tiers, which is great).Looking forward to many years of service from this model though I will be pleasantly surprised if it lasts as long as the old one.

Great steamer
We bought this to replace a 15 year old Tefal steamer which was dropped onto a tiled floor & cracked so that it leaked. We initially bought a smaller, cheaper one from Amazon but, as it was so flimsily made that we returned it & bought a more expensive Tefal replacement. This new one is a great improvement on the old one as, although the basket are the same size, the base unit is smaller & neater & the whole thing stacks into a very small space. It also steams much more quickly than the old one so we are very pleased with it.

Compact and easy to store, but you need really good ventilation
The plus point about this Tefal VC204865 steamer over previous versions is that it is super compact and really easy to store in the corner of the kitchen or on top of a cupboard. However, compared to previous generations I find that it generates too much steam, even when using just one tray and lid. I had to stop using it because the steam it outputs accumulated on the kitchen cupboards and I don't get that with a traditional steamer pan or a microwave steamer. I tried sitting it under the extractor fan and with the skylight open but it still leaves kitchen surfaces damp. It still works after 2 years and I haven't had any problems with it other than too much steam. It is a shame because the steamed vegetables are really tasty but its just too much hassle to mop the cupboards after with tea towels.

Good product
It’s a great product and price. Cleaned easily cooks well. The only thing wrong is the instructions aren’t in English.
