Will this work with a Schwinn spin bike

If the Schwinn spin bike supports Bluetooth or ANT+ connection, then yes. We thought it very likely works with a Schwinn spin bike.

I cannot see a heading for sensors on Garmin connect app, so I cannot connect

Garmin connect app only support Garmin devices, the armband support connects with Garmin watches, thank you,

Which android app can use the HRV function?

This connects to anything blue tooth, I use it on Zwift, Strava, Garmin, you can download it’s own software for using it without the need for the above. It is a great monitor, my coach does not like the wrist HR readings not accurate and I hated the chest strap this was a great compromise.
