I recently bought the Alton Padded Paneled Divan Headboard to refresh the look of our guest bedroom, and I’m really pleased with how it turned out. If you’re after a simple, elegant way to elevate your bed without a complete replacement, this headboard is a fantastic option.Straight out of the box, the build quality is excellent. The frame is solid and sturdy, with well-secured upholstery that feels both soft and hardwearing. I chose the grey colour option, which has a neutral, modern tone that goes with almost any bedding or wall colour. The panelled design adds just the right amount of visual interest — smart and understated without being over the top.The padded surface makes it very comfortable to lean back on while reading or watching TV, and the foam feels firm enough to hold its shape over time without sagging.Fitting the headboard was easy. It comes with standard fittings and struts that aligned perfectly with our divan base. The instructions were clear, and it took less than 10 minutes with a screwdriver. Once attached, it feels very secure — no wobble, and it sits neatly flush against the wall.What I really liked is that it gives the whole bed a more premium, hotel-like appearance, even though it’s just a headboard change. It completely transformed the feel of the room without needing to buy a new frame or mattress.One small note: it is designed for standard UK divans, so make sure to check your fixing points line up. Although not quite as illustrated (the slots in the wooden struts are not "cut out" as shown, but run right to the bottom) the Serenity Headboard nevertheless represents a good value proposition. As others have noted, it's necessary to remove quite a number of staples in order to release the product from its protective packaging - so you need to have a small screwdriver and a pair of pliers to hand. It's easy enough to attach the struts and when fitted to the bed the headboard seems fairly stable, although I have found it necessary to attach felt buffers to the back of each top corner to soften contact with the wall when the headboard is leant against. From an appearance point of view, the chenille fabric looks good and the design is simple but elegant. For me, it's been a good purchase.

Nice headboard for the price. If you are wanting a deep padded headboard this is not for you. We found the top edge very thin but it was for a spare room so wasn’t a problem really.Packaging was not very good. Was wrapped in clear plastic and there was two large slashes in it. Luckily it hadn’t damaged the headboard, don’t know how. Luck on their part.

I am pleased with this item. It arrived quickly and undamaged as it was well packaged. It attached easily to my bed frame and looks good in my room. I liked all the colour options and choose the stone version. So far, so good. It looks well built and I hope that it lasts me for many years.

Pretty basic quality. Easy to fit compared to larger headboards. Needs tightening at the back plastic screws otherwise slips down. Quality could be better finishing the back as loose staples sticking out.
