This is an informative book about the history of Australia. I liked this book because I learned some new facts that I did not know before reading this book. I read this book for my personal pleasure and personal knowledge. Some of the interesting facts that this book includes is the following information: The explorer named Matthew Flinders called Australia Terra Australis. The Latin word australis means southern and terra means land. The name was changed and officially abbreviated to Australia. Tasmania was originally known as Van Diemen's Land. The government changed the island's name to Tasmania in 1856 after the explorer Able Tasman. Once the city of Brisbane was established, it split away from New South Wales to separate into an individual state called Queensland.

This book is less detailed than Wikipedia and not well written. Decades of important history covered in one page. No causal information provided. Waste of time and money.The other reviews are obviously spam and written to get you to buy this book. This is my first encounter with false Amazon reviews and I have learned a lesson.
