This quantity is much more than I need, but better too much of the right product than asking for trouble with the wrong product! This hard to find plumber's putty is rated to work on ABS plastic - very commonly used for sink drains. If you look at other products, please make sure that it specifically says that it is rated for the type of plastic you want to use it for! So this is the secret stuff pro plumbers use to put on the threads of drains if you didn't know. It goes on really easy and is a soft putty as it says. A little goes a long way so this tub is plenty for multiple projects. It keeps the water from getting past the threads or joints and just works plain and simple. This is the brand my personal plumber uses so I picked this up knowing I would wanted to change out a bathroom tub drain. Overall this is a great value as it's cheaper than at lowes and again this stuff just works.

Just used some of this putty to seat a new drain in my basement utility tub. Sealed it up exactly as it should. Adhered well & effectively, seems durable. The whole plastic tub of putty is plenty soft & is easy to work with. Tan in color & cleans up easily. I appreciate this big size & how fresh it is. This putty is versatile & can be used on all sorts of pipework in my house, so having this large amount is great. The tub that I got looks a bit different than the one shown in the product pictures, but appears to be the same stuff. Some of the text is worn off of the tub that I got, so I don’t see it say Made in USA anywhere, but the product picture says it is.

We’re currently in the middle of a bathroom remodel, but we haven’t gotten the sink installed yet, so I haven’t had a chance to actually use this putty. I did open the container and check it out. Other than some shifting during shipping, everything looked fine. The putty has a good consistency and seems like quality material. It doesn’t feel dried out or crumbly, which was my main concern. I’ll know more once the sink is installed, but based on first impressions it appears to be a good quality plumber’s putty and there’s plenty of it in the container for multiple projects.
