Great HDR and Curve
Great monitor so far. High refresh rate and sharp image. The HDR feature looks beautiful but I have no frame of reference from other monitors but after I upgraded from my previous acer x341ck, this is image looks sharp. I looked at reviews on youtube but you cant really see it unless its physically. The 1900R curve really works, while playing games kinda like a putting a headset, really envelopes the sight. The monitor is very light, much lighter than my previous one. This one has a ton of customizable features and presets. The only complaint I have is that its kind of dull, no colors or leds, my previous acer had customizable color leds that I would use for a dark room setting, working kind of like a lamp, but that is minor. I guess the other thing is that there is an exhaust fan right where I connected the monitor arm, not sure what was the design purpose of that.

So far so good!
The monitor arrived today. I just got it set up and am putting it through the motions. So far I haven't identified any dead pixels whatsoever. No real edge bleed to speak of. Color balance looks great out of the box as reviews noted. I like that it comes factory calibrated and ships with a print out from the factory. I haven't seen a need to really tweak things yet, which makes the setup pretty hassle free.It ships with all needed cables. The included DP 1.4 cable is 8k so you won't need to upgrade that. It comes with an HDMI cable too and a hefty mounting bracket for other applications, .The screen is a nice size. I like the slightly taller height over my 3440x1440. It's not much, but it is noticeable. I'm coming from a ROG Swift 34. While there's not much difference in pixel density, the slightly larger screen size is nice. The curve isn't discernible at normal distance/viewing angle. You'll have to activate the higher refresh rates within the monitor settings to get up to 175FPS. Also make sure to double check within Windows too when you change to native resolution. Windows also has an HDR setting you can activate which seems to brighten things nicely without blowing out the contrast, etc. This is my first HDR monitor so I'm still evaluating how it looks while gaming. I can already notice a drastic difference from the GSync board on this monitor over my older ROG Swift34. Whether that's GSync ultimate, or just newer improvements, I can tell the Predator 38S is a lot smoother when gaming. I haven't yet put it through many test across different titles, but I'm pleased with how things are looking so far in the few games I tried.I'll adjust my rating/review if things pop up but so far the only negative I'd say is the price. I've been eyeballing the non 'S' version of this monitor for over a year and it hasn't budged from $1600 at all, so while $2000 for this monitor stings, I doubt that price is going to shift much on average going forward. Of course I'll kick myself if it does.

Predator X34 S is awesome!
No dead or stuck pixels.Backlight bleed it low which is awesome. (Camera picks it up badly) it looks way better in real.180Hz works great. HDR also looks decent but I don't really use it.Factory calibration is nice and colors look accurate. I only adjusted brightness. I'm very happy with it. I think it's the best UW 1440p 34" IPS monitor at the moment.

Excellent gaming performance, good picture. Expensive.
My Acer Predator X34 S works great with the 180 Hz mode and Gsync enabled. Really great response for an ultrawide. IPS screen. Like most IPS screens, the fastest overdrive setting is too much and causes noticeable overshoot, so it will not be able to achieve the advertised response rate at the 'normal' overdrive setting. This is an industry-wide issue with IPS screens, not specific to this model.Honest complaints:My unit backlight bleed in both top corners. Only noticeable on all-black scenes, forgivable in my opinion, depends on how sensitive you may be to that.I ended up replacing the included DP cable with a certified DP 1.4 cable, because I was experiencing a flickering issue with Gsync enabled. However, that issue may have been cleared up by a newer graphics card driver, so your mileage may vary. The on-screen display crosshair mode is not perfectly centered in the middle of the screen... it is like 2 pixels off to the right from dead-center. Tested in multiple games and compared to my previous LG screen's crosshair mode. This is a silly mistake. The monitor is very expensive for what it is. There are competitive 144 hz screens now in the $500 price range with similar quality panels. The Predator X34 S does offer the 'ultimate' version of modern fast 3440x1440 IPS panels with the factory OC'd 180 Hz mode, but whether that is worth the difference in price is up to the buyer.

Worth it
ProsCrisp light and dark contrasts.Smooth frames rates. Reflex is awesome. No light spots around the edge of the screen.Very good color gradients. The curvature is reasonable for it’s size.Well made. It’s way cheaper now than when it was released.ConsIt must be setup to work properly.Must have an Nvidia gpu to run Reflex.

Faulty gsync fan, faulty gsync module
As the title says I have multiple defects with this monitor. They popped up a few months after ownership. Acer customer support was the worst I've ever worked with. I did not save my MASSIVE box and they would not send me one. I think they wanted me to pay for shipping as well leaving me with no monitor and I work from home. All around terrible experience and I never ended up getting it fixed. I will NEVER touch an Acer product again in my life. They are terrible products.

The best 34" monitor hands down!!!
I have a LG 34GP83A-B that I use for home office and Dell U3419w at the office but this Acer is a completely different experience. It has a great sounds quality, very sharp display with excellent color and no lags in games. The controls are easy to reach and adjust and its just feels lot more modern and sophisticated system compared to others I had tested. For this price, it is a bargain and the best monitor for 2021.
