does the job on thicker grass and weeds, but blades break very easily around the hole.
The blades themselves are plastic and get broken very easily. not at the blade side, but at the end of the "loop" where plastic is flimsy and thin. definitely not for brushes unless you want to replace the blades every few minutes.

Inexpensive improvement to Ryobi strimmer.
I bought this to clear up thick weeds and high grass around a community path. The plastic blades worked well. If they come in contact with stones, hidden stumps, etc they will snap and after a while they will wear down. This isn't a problem as they are disposable and if you take care you'll get a decent amount of time out of them. This is an inexpensive addition which extends the power of the Ryobi strimmer. It can't compete with a bladed petrol strimmer but is good value and worth getting. I haven't tried cheap generic blades but even paying for Ryobi blades isn't overly expensive. Recommended. Gutes Gerät trotz schnellem Verschleiß. Habe nicht richtig aufgepasst. LEIDER!!!!
