It is OK but disappointing. Pro: It works ...
It is OK but disappointing.Pro:It works. It boils water. One can start boiling via a phone app.Con:1. It is slow. Very slow. The Rated power is 1850W but it boils water 2.5 times slower than my Breville BKE595XL with rated power 1800W. Either the item is mismarked (probably the power rating applies to 220W and I use the US version in US) or there is something wrong with the kettle.2. The app (I use iPhone app) misses some essential functionality: 2.a. I can not program the kettle to start boiling at a certain time. Taken together with a slowness this is extremely inconvenient. 2.b. It does not show current water temperature. My conclusion is that it does not really solves my problem to the full extent.

It seems to be hit and miss whether you get one that works properly
*** It seems that it is a crap shoot whether you get a working Smart Kettle or not. ***It is clear from other reviewers that their Smart Kettle works great. I'm glad it does for them. A number of them say that the rest of us are doing this wrong. They may be correct with some people in their assessment. But not this time. The rest of this review covers points made by those who have given this kettle low ratings, and those who have given it high rankings and have said that the rest of us are doing it wrong. I want to be clear why both may be right, and that the problem may be a function of the manufacturing methods being used, leaving one with some kettles working and some not.I do not consider myself a technology expert -- but if YOU are not a techie then I definitely am one, in comparison. If that makes any sense. Every office I have ever worked at, my colleagues would rely on me to figure out tech problems with their computers before going to IT, because they knew I could diagnose their problem out faster by going to me than having to put in an IT request. And if I couldn't do it, at least they would know that the easier solutions that I knew, didn't work. I used this skill to become the customer service manager for a computer magazine, and we would get questions of all kinds from our readers. So at a level of a smart device and basic WiFi technology, I know enough about such things today to work a supposedly smart kettle. I also know how to follow instructions, and I do read. And when what I think I should be doing is not working, I re-read and re-read each step to be sure I've got it right. In most cases it is amazing how often I simply miss a step, when something isn't working for me and I want to blame the manufacturer. So I can understand the skepticism of those whose kettles work for them, when they look at the reviewers who say that their kettles do not, in thinking that it simply must be due to user error. I would say that it is possible that they may be correct -- I amend to now say SOMETIMES, after my own experience -- as I know how often people don't read, and indeed even if you do the instructions that come with the kettle absolutely suck for those who do not read Korean (and maybe even for those who do). And I originally thought it must be user error in those cases, too. Which is why I took the risk and bought the kettle.AND...I followed all the instructions that the good reviewers have left as to how to connect to the Direct (Smart-Kettle) network with my iPhone. I was able to connect to the network. But then the app never got past "It is connecting..." even after ensuring the kettle was in "direct" mode by pressing the 100C button until I heard the two beeps. I reinstalled the app. I turned off and turned back on the kettle. I put the kettle back into direct mode. I reconnected with the WiFi "Smart-Kettle" network. That worked. And never got past "It is connecting..." in the Direct mode for the kettle, and the Home network always said Failed to Connect when correctly entering the SSID and password. Believe me. I worked on this for over two hours, double and quadruple checking and running through each step, and sometimes reversing steps or mixing them up just in case that might help. I varied the distance that my phone was at, in case getting too close or too far was a problem. No matter what I tried... no dice. Maybe a true tech expert could figure this out. But if I cannot, then there is probably something wrong with my kettle. That or the instructions -- even the ones given by the good reviewers -- are missing something key. Given all the information I have, I find that I cannot connect to this particular kettle in a way that has the app work for me.And if I can't do that, then there is no reason for me to have it. The kettle can of course can be used manually. But that is not why I purchased this kettle. Besides, other reviewers are correct that it boils slowly in comparison to other non-smart electric kettles that are priced 1/3 of this one and have the same manual type features of a set of fixed temperature settings and a keep warm feature. So why would I spend 3x the money on a kettle that works half as well?I'm glad I didn't get rid of my former non-smart kettle before making sure this one worked correctly.I hope this review will help the manufacturer realize that there is probably a problem in the production line with the WiFi equipment or firmware or how the two interact with one another. Because getting a hit and miss like this isn't a way to install confidence in your product, over time.My recommendation: DON'T BUY IT unless you are ready to return a defective one if need be.

I've Been Waiting For This For a Long Time!!!
This morning, as I woke up- rather than get out of bed, go downstairs and hit a switch to boil water, only to have to hover over the old kettle while it began to make its 'boiling' sounds - I simply reached for my phone, opened up a simple app, (albeit with grammatical issues if English happens to be your primary language), hit a button and took a snooze in my warm bed!I was hesitant tp purchase this product due to it's poor reviews. Even though it in the enviable position as the only one of its kind currently available that solves a need only IOT (internet of things) technology can satisfy - namely the ability to turn it on without getting out of bed or walking to it from any other part of ones home! The good news is the product works 100% as advertised. The bad news is the App's user interface is clearly written by someone who does not speak English as a primary language! It leaves you guessing to infer what means what.Bottom line is once you connect to the kettle via it's own Wifi, set it up on 'Home' mode, enter your WiFi details and hit the 'Settings' button, it connects to your Wifi just fine using an iPhone. After this just reconnect to your home Wifi and there it is!The app comes up and there is an 'on/off' button and an 'Insulate' button (translated 'Keep Warm') as well as a temperature indicator. That's about it!If you need the problem solved of switching on your kettle from anywhere in your house (including your bed when you wake up) then get this product. If you're not a techie, invite a friend over for a cup of tea! Jist don't pass up on it due to the poor reviews!

Buyer's remorse
I bought this as a birthday present for my wife, who grew up in the UK. Needless to say she drinks a fair amount of tea. We're both disappointed in this product and certainly won't be running to get the next products from AIMOX. no matter what they are...App and wifi features are a bit janky. can't get it to stay on wifi and only operational on local. I'd opt for a different one or at least a good NON IoT kettle. Takes forever to heat the water and no water level gauge in app.Good idea executed very poorly.

Comfort
It's great when you are in your bed and can put your water to boil and then get how and make your tea when you are ready.

Works perfect, bad instructions. Update instructions here.
Instructions are bad. That's the only bad thing.Other reviews are incorrect. There is a "direct mode" which you have to connect to each time. The proper way to set it up as part of your network is 4 step process similar to every other smart device.1. Turn on kettle2. Place kettle in "direct mode" (hold down 100degree c button for five seconds, beeps twice)3. Download SmartKettle app (google app has different name)4. Connect to "SmartKettle wifi" from your phone5. Click home mode6. Enter settings for your wifi7. Click next8. Reconnect to your home wifi9. Now kettle will always be accessible on your home networkWhenever you open SmartKettle app it and click home mode it will connect and you can start boiling water from bed at one of four preset temps.
