I got two beautiful, vintage canning jars with swing tops at a yard sale. Their seals were cracked and brittle. I bought these seals hoping they would fit. I easily replaced the seals with a wee bit of stretch. They fit perfectly and are the right diameter and thickness to make an airtight seal. I plan to store dry goods like rice, beans or pasta in them. These seals have made the vintage jars useful again. At well under $1 per seal, I am very pleased with the value, ease and quality.

They provide a seal between the glass of the jar and the glass of the lid - as per my need. They fit over the jar rim but loosely, not tight - but that doesn't affect function, really. They're WAY too wide, so they interfere with the clamp-down wire, but a scissors solves that problem and you can do the cutting right off the jar so you don't go wrong. In short, they're very much imperfect but also very much functional. Only time will tell how well they withstand clamp-pressure and indirect UV light over time.

These work well for me. Since they are silicone, I don't see myself replacing them anytime soon. They MEASURE slightly DIFFERENT than the specifications for INSIDE DIAMETER. - The inside diameter is 2.75". The specification is 2.9". They worked fine on my lid... a smidge tight but that will just keep them on. But note the difference. - The outside diameter is as specified at 3.7". - The width of the seal is as specified 0.5". - The thickness in a smidge under spec at 0.08" (still plenty thick). If this inside diameter will work on your jars, order away. It's a good value on ten silicone seals that shouldn't dry out for decades.
