I picked up this little high‑voltage generator out of pure curiosity — you know, the kind of curiosity that usually ends with someone saying, “Hold my drink, I wanna try something.” Surprisingly, this thing works really well, and even more surprisingly… I did NOT get shocked, which already puts it above half the projects I’ve attempted in my life. It puts out an impressive arc for such a tiny module, and once you power it up, you definitely feel like a mad scientist (minus the smoke and emergency room visit). The build quality is solid, the output is exactly what’s advertised, and it’s perfect for experiments, demonstrations, or just convincing your friends you’ve suddenly become an electrical wizard. If you want something fun, powerful, and capable of making you feel like you’re doing dangerous science while actually staying safe — this is the one. Just keep your fingers where your fingers belong, and you’ll be golden. Would absolutely buy again. Still shock‑free, still proud of it. Great value for the money!

It works great and more voltage input means higher output remember that not sure about if its really 400k tho but everyone who says it breaks well their wrong and probably over did it with voltage. Side note buzz buzz.

i have found that you get better results if you use ac voltage other then dc although the instructions say to use dc power. my personal opinion is that you will get better results with ac voltage . especially if you are running two or more in series. when i say in series in talking about the input power!! this my personal opinion ! have a good day you all

Good for hobbies.

All five of the transformers I got worked out of the bag unlike some of the other reviewers. They're also really fun to play with and can be run off of a 9v (might shorten lifespan though). Pretty much the only problem I have with these things is that the title of the product says it outputs 400KV pulse. But the description also says it has a spark gap of 10-20mm which means the output has to be around 10,000v-30,000v depending on how you power it and the individual device. This is also what I've found in short testing of these things. I would totally buy these at the same price if they were advertised as such but it's annoying that you don't actually know what you're buying.

Be careful with these! Small voltage delivers a shock that isn't subtle.

I don't know why Amazon recommended these, but I have an excess of 18650 batteries, and needed to meet a shipping minimum, so I figured why not. It is fairly loud! I am unsure what I will do with these but I will keep y'all updated. Pondering a bug zapper, negative ion generation, person defense (I am going to end up shocking myself)
