Baby Loves Quarks! (Baby Loves Science)

I love it and my toddler loves it too. The book compares toys building blocks to how things are built in nature with atoms and molecules. My two year old points at the quarks, knows which illustrations are the atoms and which ones are the molecules. The illustrations are accurate so we even go as far as counting the electrons in the different atoms. Even if they are not mentioned, I use it to teach my child the names of the different quarks and how many of each make the protons and neutrons, which are also represented with just the initials U and D in the pictures. My son asks to read it all the time.

Often the "baby science" genre is really for adults and doesn't present the material in an interesting way for a toddler or infant. I was a little worried that the topic for this one would be too technical. I should have trusted the authors! It's a great introduction to the idea of things being made of other categories of things, and it introduces quarks, atoms, and molecules in a fun way. My 2 year old daughter and I have read every book in this series except Quantum Physics (yet!) and would enthusiastically recommend all of them except maybe Green Energy (which my daughter doesn't mind, but I found a bit reductive). Baby Loves Coding is by far her favorite, while mine is probably Baby Loves Thermodynamics.

This book is perfect FOR BABIES. We have a four year old and ten month old..the ten month old LOVES this book. We read it and then she hands it to us to read it again. We got this just before going on a trip that involved a ridiculously long plane trip. I think everyone within hearing radius of us on the plane could recite this book , given that we read it about 150 times! It's short and cute and basically just introduces the concepts of quarks, nucleus (of an atom), atoms and molecules. My four year old has already memorized it and loves to "read" it to his sister. We have some other (fill in the blank) for babies type books, but a lot of them are actually for older kids, this is actually for babies and gets my baby's stamp (or drool) of approval!

We got these books for my daughter and they are fabulous! My husband works in nuclear physics professionally and was impressed by the level of detail and thought that went into Baby Loves Quarks. And we both laughed out loud about the bird's adventures in Baby Loves Aerospace Engineering. My daughter isn't old enough to understand the concepts yet, but she enjoys the simple, bold colors in the book. Baby Loves Quarks and Baby Loves Aerospace Engineering are actually two of the few books she actively opens and flips through because they're so attractive visually. We can't wait for the next 2 books in the series to come out in September! I can't recommend these highly enough.

I've been on a science baby book kick for the last year or so, and I love this one! The drawings are cute and colorful, the explanation simple, and reading this book gave us adults new insight too! We noticed that the quarks looked to be different configurations in the protons and electrons, but didn't know why... So 3 adults set out on an online mission to understand more about nature's building blocks. Oh yeah, I should probably mention that my 20 month old child also enjoys reading this book. :-) We've been fans of Chris Ferrie's Baby University books, but the layout and simplicity of explanation in this one wins it for me.

My 3 month old LOVES these books. The babies in the pictures are fun for him to look at. He will listen to the story from start to finish. We started reading this book to him when he was just 3 weeks old and it has held his attention from the start. I even learned something new! The pictures are colorful and the content is well written, I can't wait to add activities to support the text when he gets older.

Bought a used one, in "good condition". Unfortunately the seller failed to mentioned there are written words inside that are impossible to remove! :( About the book. This book is one of the better one in the "Babies love" series in which they actually learn the concept! Granted, the concept of quarks is easier to convey than, say "Quantum Physics". :)

Edit: baby is 19 months and brings this book to me to read. He turns the pages and really enjoys it. There are pictures of animals and other pictures I can point to and practice saying the words since he’s close to talking himself. At 8 months old, my baby is too young to understand and just wants to chew on the book. From my perspective, the way quarks is explained is well done in a comparison to child’s building blocks and the world around them. I’m looking forward to seeing how my child learns from this book as he gets older and can read it. The artwork is appealing and I’ll probably buy other books in the series.

My daughter is almost two and this is one of her favourite books. She loves the illustrations and Ive been having to read it to her a dozen times over. She keeps talking to people about 'electrons' and 'neutrons' and we get a lot of 'what did she just say?'. Great way to introduce very small children to science.

Great quality book! It obviously doesn't go into detail but a fantastic way to introduce young children to the concept. No idea if it's starting to make any sense to my toddler yet but he certainly loves the pictures!
