Q: How do you assemble these things? The cryptic instructions are not clear at all!!!!

I thought they were very easy to assemble.

Q: What is the lowest temperature these can withstand?

Glass doesn't typically shatter simply when it gets cold/frozen. It's a rapid change in temperature that creates enough pressure to break glass. So, don't take it out of freezing temperatures and run it under warmer water - that's what will crack it. Same in the respect that you cannot take a hot piece of glass and stick it under colder water. Typical ambient outdoor temperature does not change fast enough to do this. The only other pressure issue would be glass filled with a liquid that expands which would not be the case here either.

Q: (glass seems impractical & dangerous! is this really made out of glass? or is it acrylic or other clear non-breakable material?

Squirrel Baffle feels like glass, but think of a pyrex lid. It is thick and very durable. I suppose it would break if dropped on a sidewalk.
