PEMPWireless Carplay retrofit and Airplay Android Auto MMI Box Use The OEM Microphone for BMW F01 F07 F10 F12 F15 F20 F30 F25 F48 NBT (NBT)

Wanted to put out a review to help any BMW X5 E70 owners. The unit is very responsive. You do need to use the provided mic unfortunately and the AUX in center console. Still figuring out where to hide the box. It is a very easy install in that you only have to unplug one connection from the back of the stereo unit. You do need to use some caution though. You need to remove the AC/Heat module to get stereo unit out. If you put everything back in and your AC/Heat module doesn't light up or work, it's one of the connectors in the back that is the issue. It is the funky clip. It just does not seat completely tight. I went through the entire car checking every fuse to figure this out at the end. You can slide the plug out of the clip, then just plug it in and all should be good. I still need to get either a new clip or figure a way to secure it in there. I don't think it will go anywhere though. Hope this helps anyone else looking to purchase!

The product was fairly easy to install, but getting the audio to work was very difficult! To get audio working with Android, make sure to do the following:1) Enable developer options and ensure USB debugging is selected on your Android device.2) Connect via Bluetooth to DC_AUDIO_BT-7260 from OEM screen first, then connect to PEMP Box_6593, then to vehicle itself.3) Create & connect to a Wi-Fi network named carplay_6593 broadcast by the PEMP box.4) From Android Auto screen, navigate to the PEMP box settings and view all options, including the factory mode options & adjust as needed.5) You may need to restart the PEMP box by navigating to the advanced options.6) As with most vehicle installations, disconnect the battery before installation!

First , this is an awesome product. Works better than expected. Installation is not hard but some experience would not hurt. It is plug and play but can be a bit challenging especially with BMW connectors that can be tricky to remove. Once installed the set up not hard but not for Android Auto you need to use the USB cable. I have a 335i with Harman Kardon and to hide the device was a challenge. Non Harman Kardon should be easier.

First off let me say, this is a pricey item, so getting something that works maybe 1% of the time and isnt a pain in the butt to use should be a pretty reasonable thing right? Not with PEMP. They make sure they give you the most difficult to use item that works with maybe 1 thing in your car. Can no longer use the internet mic in my 2016 bmw 328I i must use the pretty pathetic, cheap mic they provide you which means more wires outside the on the dash and makes it look awful. The hookup was fairly easy, if you dont mind shoving bundles upon bundles of wires into your dash and trying to make them fit for three hours. Totally on BMW though. Also, I have to use the USB they provided on their wire hookups to use wired carplay. Another star off. ALSO the wireless apple carplay is EXTREMELY LAGGY, extremely slow and is constantly making me miss turns. Please skip this and go with someone else. They clearly are just money hungry to put such an inferior item on this website and charge your 300 dollars for it. What a waste.

The media could not be loaded.  Upon researching options for getting Android auto and screen mirroring for my 2016 BMW X5M I came across this product. It was difficult to find any real reviews on this product. It's half the price of the competition's MMI box, so I gave it a shot. I've installed the device myself by following the directions and watching the YouTube install video. I successfully installed the hardware and after receiving the necessary pnone app from the support team I can easily screen mirror to the device. Android auto and car play work perfectly as well. If you are looking to upgrade your car entertainment system, I highly recommend this product. Follow the instructions and video closely. Their support team is quick to respond too, just keep in mind time zone differences.

1day After install:The contents of the box are a bit overwhelming because it’s a one-size fits all kit that comes with lots of harnesses Incase you need them. But mine was extremely simple and plug-and-play. Looks factory from a passenger perspective and the sound quality is great. I exclusively have been using the wireless CarPlay.I’ll update in a month or two if things change but I’m very pleased with it.

I installed this unit shortly after receiving it from Amazon, and despite having installed several units like this, in the past, this installation took about three hours. The most significant cause for the delay in installation is the fact that this unit simply will not fit under the factory stereo. I ended up locating it on the right side next to the glove compartment in a vertical position, not ideal, but it did fit there. Once installed, I reassembled the dash, paired my phone, and everything worked perfectly. One more thing to note if it hasn’t been covered in another post is that you need to disconnect from the factory Bluetooth when pairing to the CarPlay your phone will try to connect to both, so I would get video on the CarPlay screen, but no audio.

Carplay voice calls won’t work unless i switch the bluetooth connection to bmw directly.

My first install was on a BMW X1, and I had issues configuring wireless Android Auto. Support was responsive and we've figured out that my box was configured with AA disabled in the factory settings, after enabling everything was fine.Actually it was good enough that I bought a second unit for our Mini Cooper. I've also added a reverse camera for that car since it did not have any. Now the company doesn't officially mentions supporting Minis, but the infotainment is BMW's NBT, so I felt confident enough.The only issue I have encountered with this second install was that the dynamic tracks were not working, but support provided me with a firmware update that was enable to sniff the steering CAN messages from the MINI and sure enough the dynamic tracks started working after the update.So all in all, a very good product, backed by excellent support.

Die deutsche Sprachdatei ist schrecklich.Eine Mischung aus Englisch, Italienisch und ein paar (teilweise falsch übersetzten) Brocken Deutsch.Der Support reagiert sehr flott, leider mit der Nachricht: dafür gibt es derzeit keine Lösung (Toll die Box gibt es seit 2 Jahren auf dem deutschen Markt)Bei der Box selbst:Wenn das OEM Mikro verwendet werden soll: ZWINGEND den Stecker „MIC“ aus dem Kabelbaum in die blaue Box stecken.Wichtig auch: das Umbauen der CAN Leitungen (optisch)Beides nur sehr schlecht in der Anleitung beschrieben.
