Big River harps are the best bargain in 10 hole harmonicas in my opinion
This A-flat harp is great for playing blues in E flat, (E chords with a guitar tuned a half step down). It is pitched lower than an A and higher than a G. Like all Big River harmonicas it is loud and sounds, IMO, as good as any 10 hole harp in its key. I bought a lot of BR harps years ago, when they were nine dollars each. I am so glad I did. I play the harp mainly from a holder (with my guitars). I've been doing that for over 60 years. The Big Rivers are a little thick for some holders. Often I will put old Marine Band covers on them to make them fit better. The funny thing about the review process for this harmonica is that the software wants to know if it is "sheer" enough to suit me. It is (HA!).

Great value
This model is a great value. Plays well out of the box, no adjustment required. Highly recommend.

Good Value
Hohner makes good quality when it's Made in Germany as this one is. However, my wife wanted a model with more versatility. There is a chart on the back of the box showing which models are ideal for which types of music. I wish this were shown on the Amazon store so an intelligent decision could be made. Ended up returning it and purchasing a chromatic.

Great Folky Sound
I purchased the ‘Big River’ harmonica hoping to get a more folksy sound ( not bluesy ) …It delivers! For sea shanties and folk songs… or just regular sing along tunes—- it is perfect!

Bite My Stache!
First of all, if you play a harmonica, you own or have owned a Hohner. I began playing in the latter 70's and quit playing. I owned Hohner harmonicas. I decided recently to pick a harmonica back up and naturally I picked a Hohner. To my surprise, in some 40 years, these instruments are about the same, in a good way. Many reviews have been written on these instruments, by more educated persons than me. Read them! The only drawback I experienced was that the harmonica will occasionally "bite" my mustache. As I play, sometimes, my facial hair will get caught on an edge and pull it slightly. This isn't a deal breaker. I'm just sayin' this could happen. If you don't have a mustache. you will be home free! All in all a great buy for the money!

Had a crap harmonica for years
I purchased this one to try and make myself learn how to play, should I ever land in prison and fancy being a worn out cliché.It has a lovely sound. I only ever picked it up in uni when I was really drunk in bed and annoyed my neighbours. It's sat on my shelf in an ornament like fashion ever since.

Sounds great
Bought for my son who wanted to play harmonica. He'd already bought a very cheap one, but this was immediately and obviously superior. Looks beautiful too, and feels solid. The supplied hard case is also nice to have.

good quality
I've had this for 8 years and it is still as good as new, no rusty bits or decay. It is good quality. I brought some cheaper ones for comparison and they are in the bin. I play this for somebody who loves music and has good taste, and he is happy.

Great for a beginner
I'm a guitarist, but I just fancied learning to blow some blues harp, so I've bought this as a total beginner..... It feels well made, comfortable in the hand and the mouth, it plays in tune and has quite a nice tone. Within about half and hour - and with a little help from Youtube - I was playing 'Love me Do', which made me happy and keen to learn some proper blues. I think this harp should serve me well and should be plenty adequate enough for me to learn all the techniques I need... I can even bend notes now .... sometimes..... practice practice......
