Great thermos for daily use
This is a great for everyday use. I primarily use it for coffee. It will keep the coffee hot at least into the afternoon. Of course, everyone has a different opinion on what they mean by "hot". In the morning it is still hot enough to burn my mouth. In the afternoon it is drinkable hot. I haven't found a reasonably priced and sized thermos that will maintain burn temperature for 24 hours, and this one won't either. But it does keep it at an adequate temperature for me throughout the day. It is a little larger than I needed, by about 4 ounces, so I don't need to fill it completely. I haven't had it leak yet either. It fits in the pocket of my computer bag, barely, so I carry it with me everywhere.

The BEST Thermos I've Ever Owned! - Milton Thermosteel is a Game Changer!
I'm absolutely blown away by the performance of this Milton Thermosteel bottle! I've tried countless thermoses over the years, and this one blows them all out of the water. The biggest thing for me is the outstanding heat retention. I'm a big coffee drinker and I love to take it with me on the go. Recently, I took this bottle on a long road trip. I filled it with piping hot coffee at 6 AM, and by 2 PM, it was STILL steaming and incredibly hot! I was amazed. No more lukewarm, disappointing coffee hours into my trip. This bottle kept my coffee at the perfect temperature for a ridiculously long time. It saved me so much money and hassle of stopping for refills! Beyond keeping my coffee hot for hours, I also appreciate: Durable Construction: The bottle feels incredibly sturdy and well-made. I'm confident it can handle the bumps and bruises of daily life and travel. Leak-Proof Design: No leaks! Even when tumbling around in my bag, I haven't experienced a single drop. Peace of mind is priceless! Easy to Clean: The wide mouth makes it easy to clean thoroughly, preventing any lingering smells or buildup. Sleek and Stylish: It's not just functional, it looks good too! The stainless steel design is modern and understated. Versatile: While I primarily use it for hot coffee, I can see myself using it for cold drinks in the summer as well! If you're looking for a thermos that can keep your beverages hot (or cold) for hours, is built to last, and is easy to use, look no further than the Milton Thermosteel bottle. It's an investment you won't regret! I highly recommend it. This bottle is a true game-changer!

How Hot is Hot?
The main reason I bought this thermos was the pour spout. It's much handier than unscrewing the lid. It does leak a little, maybe it comes out through the spout? Not sure, but I don't travel with the thermos, I just use it to store hot water for later use throughout the day, so I don't have to fire up the tea kettle again. The product description says that it keeps the contents "hot" for 24 hours with no heat transfer. Not sure what temperature is being used to define hot, but I conducted readings over several days using a Pyrex digital meat thermometer. The first measurements I took were from first filling the thermos with boiling water, screwing on the lid and cap, and taking readings every two hours. I was going to take the readings by inserting the probe through the pour spout, but it's not a straight passage through, so I had to unscrew the lid each time. For the first six hours, the temperature would drop by about 10 degrees every two hours (5 degrees per hour). And it was apparent that heat was transferring out through the top (maybe because the lid isn't as insulated as the rest of the body?) because the cap cup was warm to the touch. So after six hours, the temperature dropped to about 174° F. Still hot enough to brew some tea, or coffee from grounds. After the first six hours, the temperature drop seemed to taper off to about 5 degrees every two hours. So at about the 12 hour mark, the temperature was around 156°F. At the 24 hour mark, the temperature was 131°F. I'm guessing that if you use the thermos to store a beverage, like coffee, this should be hot enough (although fast food places serve coffee around 170°F). In case the process of opening the lid to take measurements lets a lot of the heat escape, I also conducted a survey where I took readings at only the 12 and 24 hour mark. In this survey, the 12 hour temp was 159°F and the 24 hour reading was 136°F, so slightly warmer, but not significantly. I guess 131°F after 24 hours would be technically hot. That is, if you put a hot beverage like coffee in there, it would still be pretty hot. But if you use it to store hot water for later use (like I do), you could probably make a cup of hot chocolate or instant coffee. But it seems to be too cold for brewing tea, or brewing coffee from grounds.

Returning Milton Flask Customer
Be aware that product is now made in India, not China, so steel quality is not as good as before. But for the price and size, this is still a good choice. My previous Milton Flask was robbed at London St. Pancras International Train Station. I was satisfied and happy with my previous Milton Flask’s quality.

Doesn't leak and keeps things cool.
This little flask is brilliant, I'm delighted with it. It holds enough milk for several cups of tea and cereal in work and it keeps it cold. Also the design is very good because you can flip the spout to pour and don't have to fully open the top but is completely leak proof. I would definitely recommend!
