Perfect! Cleared the air in my home and it always smells fresh!

QUIET! My wife has amazing hearing and was skeptical when I purchased this purifier, NO PROBLEM as she enjoys how quiet it is.Sensitivity of its air quality sensor - it's very sensitive compared to my new Coway. Today my wife was in and out of the house a dozen times and the sensor turned RED and after eight hours of Red I thought it had broken so I sat my Coway next to it and ran both. The Coway started Red and turned Blue after 30 minutes, the Alen turned Blue one hour later. I guess our outside air quality is poorer than I assumed.Setup was easy and the controls are simple to adjust the Alen's operation.Filter - the standard filter provided does not remove bacteria and mold, the "Silver" filter is needed for their removal and its expected life is one half of the standard filter.The cost is hefty but my breathing the untreated air where we live makes its purchase entirely acceptable.Size and mobility - my wife has no problem moving it and the Oak cover fits our decor.I AM HAPPY. Why only Four Stars? The cost lowered it from Five to Four Stars.

After light use for 8 months, we stored our Alen BreathSmart FIT50 for 2 years. When we recently tried to turn it back on, it didn't work. The unit was totally dead. I called Alen customer service and after going through troubleshooting over the phone, they told me they could not do anything for me because I didn't register the unit and could not provide proof of purchase for replacement filters. Since we didn't use the unit much, and the filter was in pretty good shape (relatively clean), we never replaced it. Proof of purchase (from Amazon) for the unit with the original filter, was not good for Alen. They did not offer any other solution. The customer service representative agreed with me over the phone that the best course of action was to dispose of the unit. So, as soon as I post this review, I will head downstairs to dispose of my Alen BreathSmart FIT50 unit. It is a good-looking air purifier, maybe someone will pick it up at the curb to decorate their apartment.

Meh,pretty underwhelming so far. I've left it cranked in a less than 150sq' room for two days, still shows red.I even have my Alen T500 cranked up in the same room and it's only gone to orange for a few minutes and back to red. The high setting is about what I would expect from a medium setting and the fact that they call it "Turbo" would be comical if not for the hefty price. The far cheaper T500 blows more air for less than half the price. There's no way this thing is going to clean around corners and clean the rest of my 600sq' apartment despite the 800sq' promise. The lack of freshness in the air is also a disappointment, a bit dry and stale. I gave it 2 checks because the jury is still out....at least a bit. Prolly going back.

I bought this because I had a serious problem with dust and possibly other allergens. It has done a wonderful job for me!I live in a 780 sq ft cottage on a busy street, with 16 ft ceilings which require a ceiling fan to run all the time during the winter to keep all the heat from being lost up high. For whatever reason, dusting lasted for a very short time before I could write my name in the surface again. I also suffer from allergies. This unit came promptly, was incredibly easy to put together (about 2 minutes to unpack & set up!). It now runs on Auto, and in my place it runs constantly. It has made a very significant difference in the dust accumulation. In fact, after running for about 15 mins. at the beginning I could smell the difference in the air! It is a tad louder than I would like, but it is not really annoying and does not keep me awake. I bought the one rated for 900 sq ft for the reasons stated above, and because my whole house is one open room. I am very pleased with my purchase.

Works well. Very quite on two lower speeds. Barely can tell its running on lowest speed. Would have been a five star if price was maybe a hundred dollars less.

Lived here for fifty years with German Shepherds in the house. The AC intake is far removed from the family foom so air exchange isn't the best, as a result, we have noticed significant sinus problems recently. Bought this unit in January and it took six weeks of constant running at power 3 (out of 4), but the air is now obviously much cleaner and the post nasal drip is mostly gone. The area is approximately 320 sq. ft. and sees a lot of traffic. Highly recommended, it really works and is very quiet.
