Can I use 1/4 inch burr with this handpiece

No, the widest that the jaws open is 5/32. For 1/4 you’d wanna get the 44T handpiece that Foredom makes, which uses collets instead of a chuck.

Hi, do I need a speed control for this?

No you don’t. I usually run mine wide open. My Dremel goes up to1800 RPM but you can use it at higher speeds.

Yes, it's blue.

Runs smooth, fits beautifully with my Dremel flex shaft motor. Will have to use it for a while to see if it heats up like a crucible like the ones I used in school, hopefully not. Bought this to go with my Durston jump ring maker which the Dremel handpiece wouldn't fit in; but it's also always good to have extra handpieces. The blue color is certainly pleasing to the eye, but is it worth the extra 10 bucks? Well if you're reading this, maybe you've already convinced yourself it is.
