Q: Will this pedal help remove the muddiness of a cheap distortion pedal?

Yes, it will remove the muddiness. Just notch out the midrange. This pedal does an EXCELLENT job with the traditional "smiley face" eq (boosted bass and treble). I removed the metal plate underneath it to lessen the weight, and use it in my pedal board. I've tried other eq's and this one is one of the best, especially considering the price.

Q: will this work 4 and arch top since my fender ramparte dose not have a treble mid and bass control nobs?

Sure. Set the equalizer like a wave. That is, the bass end nearest to the "Out" input should be above the 0-marking, then create a wave-type response, but my experience on the high end is only raise it one notch above zero. Then, you should be fine. This eq is excellent for acoustics and electrics, and your arch top will sound very nice. Dial the Rampart about half way up and enjoy. Should sound great! James

Try both. I would run it in front first and then try it after your RP360 with the settings you use. Let your ear tell you what you prefer. This pedal has more than one use so it's a hard question to answer correctly or incorrectly.
