I bought two of these, one for my husband and one for myself. Both mats are very think and provide lots of cushion but are firm at the same time. We are new to yoga, but these mats seem perfect for our needs, very comfy and good quality. 7/8/16 - After using the mats for some time, I can confirm that these were a good buy. I have problems with my knees (due to running) and the typical mats still managed to hurt mys knees. This mat is twice as thick as those typical mats and does not cause me to have any knee pain. I was initially concerned that they would slip around on the floor, but they stayed put, exactly as you placed them. They never moved through hour long yoga sessions. The strap it comes with is an added bonus. It makes it very easy to transport and store. I would definitely recommend this product and plan on purchasing more in the future as they are needed.

Thick mat but probably only good for low intensity exercise. There is no grip to it, so it doesn't stay put if you want to do certain poses. This also causes the mat to stretch out and eventually damage it.

Have only used it once but the size and comfort make it a giant improvement over my old yoga mat. My old mat would stick to my feet which made it frustrating getting into proper poses and positions. My feet stick a bit with this mat , but the mat remains on the floor. The thickness makes it quite comfortable. Since I'm over 6 feet tall I appreciate the longer mat. It's wider and could be just a bit wider still, but that's a nit. My wife is coveting it. She gets to use it next time. I think I'm going to be buying one in an appropriate lady color very soon.
