Let me describe how it works as the product description wasn't entirely clear to me. The mic/remote gets connected to your TV via RCA plugs (2 for stereo, 1 for video). I think a computer connection is possible too but not reviewing that. You then need to find the corresponding input on your TV, Turn on the Magic Sing and then punch in the number of the song you want to sing. There are tons of songs people will know (mind you I'm in my early 40s). You can go online to see the list and there are additional song chips available for purchase. The quality of the music is quite good, but no, it doesn't sound exactly like the original, but it has all sorts of nice features like changing the key, etc. Also it comes with a nice carrying case.I've seen a number of Karaoke machines/systems of various friends, and the quality, functionality and selection of songs of the Magic Sing blows those away.For my purposes of having something simple to use, afordable and of good quality, this will be a perfect gift for my wife.

I got this on sale. Songs are mostly old but not too old. It's a good quality videoke mic. A lot of songs to choose from. Packaging is fantastic too. Your family and friends will surely enjoy this.

I give it a 4 because I was able to improvise but I wish there were more of a song collection. There are 2,000 song choices but I only recognize maybe 100 of those songs and I can sing about 15 of those

Item arrived perfectly packaged in a leather carrying case. It also included a 6-Ring binder with all the song choices available - That was definitely an unexpected bonus! I bought it for my boyfriend's Christmas present as he has been wanting one for a long time. We played with it for hours the first day - but we haven't picked it up since. The song choices for the chip included with the mic are not great... They have just enough to keep you interested for a couple hours, but not enough to use on a weekly basis. The song selection seems awesome - but I would say at least 1/3 of the songs are old hymns and folk songs that you've never heard of! If you plan on buying this be prepared to buy extra chips so you have a larger song selection.Pros: Tons of fun, Great sound, Easy to hook up to the TVCons: Not as many songs as I think it should have included for the price

I bought this for my 10 year old daughter for her birthday. It arrived promptly. I had a feeling that the package had been opened; but, not sure maybe it was normally packed like that. Everything was there. My problem was that the driver on the DVD would not install on my Windows 8, 64 bit computer. I tried downloading the driver from the product site and installing it with the same result. The program installed okay I just use the mic with the computer so no Karaoke. Okay, no big deal. I could have lived with out the computer. It worked on the TV just fine. It seemed well made and rugged.The biggest beef I had was that out of the 2,000 plus songs, my daughter and her friends did not recognize a single song. It was totally useless. The songs are so old I didn't know a lot of them. If you are looking for Karaoke for someone say 40 or younger this is not for you. You can buy some additional chips for this unit; but, you are still stuck with 2,000 useless songs and the extra chip is very expensive. I cannot recommend this product.

I bought this for my parents as a gift. I was shipped really fast (two days and it was at my door). It was also very simple to set up. But here's my issue. The mic does not pick - up their voices. Video works fine; but the mic does not!!! Grrr... i was excited to present my parents with a gift only to be embarrassed that it does not work! Please help!!!

Wife loves this model. Should have gotten this on before the other machine which is just collecting dust.... Controls are simple and easy to use, and stock song variety is fairly adequate.

We are having a blast with this mic. Love the selection of songs and the ease of portability. I am looking forward to purchasing more song chips.
