Epson 552 EcoTank Ink Ultra-high Capacity Bottle Photo Black (T552120-S) Works with ET-8500, 8550

Love the printer and the ink! You finally get your money's worth!

My EcoTank Epson ET-8500 is a marvelous machine. I replaced an old Epson with it and here is what I discovered. The 8500 does not accept those old ink cartridges that last but a few weeks of light use. The tanks, or reservoirs, in the printer hold ink dispensed from these bottles. These ink bottles hold 70 milliliters which is just under 2.5 ounces. That is more than the ink reservoirs in the printer hold, but the ink bottles are re-sealable. Dispensing ink into the printer reservoirs could not be easier. The tops of these ink bottles have a plastic puzzle piece shape that matches the ink reservoirs. Furthermore, each of the six colors has a different shape so you cannot inadvertently dispense the wrong color into the wrong reservoir. Just unscrew the cap and press the bottle into the appropriately shaped reservoir and watch for the ink level to rise. Be sure to remove the bottle before the reservoir overflows. There is no fuss or mess. I have never spilled ink onto the printer or my hand when dispensing ink. These bottles of ink are expensive, but unless you print hundreds of pages every day, you will not have to replenish the reservoirs for a long time. I print something perhaps once or twice a week. It's difficult to estimate how many letter-sized sheets of paper I print, but I would guess it is perhaps between five and ten a week, and I literally do not have to replenish the reservoirs more than once a year. I also print text and images on CDs, and the ink adheres to the printable CDs perfectly. This ink, and the printer itself, are a terrific improvement over how Epson used to do things.

I have only really good reviews about this ink (and the printer that it goes too). I went back and forth for several months about purchasing the Epson 8550 EcoTank FOR MONTHS before purchasing this for my business. I am an artist and I am using it to create and print my own multi sized prints, as well as book covers and stickers. I'm fairly certain this printer paid for itself and it's ink I purchased before the month was up! The bottles of ink not only fill the entirety of the eco tank but also have 1/4 of the tank still left in the bottle once the printer is full (5/4ths of ink in a bottle) I have printed over 600 prints and covers of various sizes and colors and have barely gone through 1.5 bottles of all of the inks. I love the vibrancy and saturation of color that you get with this printer and the different sizes and options you have. I'm so glad that I bought it!

Don’t skimp-invest in the epson ink, it truly make a difference!

Excellent quality for an excellent printer! Don’t bother going non-oem alternative since it’s not worth it. This one lasts a long time and it doesn’t break the bank.

So far, so good...

gives excellent results; first bottle that came with printer lasted over 3-1/2 years; similar cost to a single Epson standard cartridge, lasts MUCH longer; ink tank printers are by far the most economical I'll stick with the quality of Epson brand ink over third party substitutes

Purchased when on sale. Great product. Wish that seller listed all the other colours available separately like this one in case you run out and so you don’t have to buy a full ink set just for 1 colour.
