Good Concentrated Colors in Nice Size Tubes
So, I made a cake and whipped up some buttercream icing and decided to try out these food colors. They are a concentrated gel made in the USA! They come in a .7oz tube which is a nice amount of food color compared to the smaller bottles others come in. They have a nice small profile plastic box to keep them corralled in the cabinet. I decided to try red because it is the most difficult to get a rich color without a nasty taste and green. I started with 1/4 cup of buttercream icing and added 2 drops of the color. It made a nice light red (pink). I added two more and it darkened and kept going until I had 8 drops in 1/4 c of icing. It made a passable red which "dried" a little darker. It would take probably another 6-8 drops to get a real deep red. I stopped at the 8 drops because, well, that cake was calling! There was no nasty taste added to the buttercream. I did the same with green and had the same results. All in all, this is a good pack of 8 concentrated colors which allows for mixing even more colors as desired. These will serve well for the home baker without taking up a lot of space in the cabinet. These colors are not as concentrated as the paste colors so they are more expensive to use if you really want deep deep colors, but for normal baking and cooking, these will do the trick and are easy to incorporate into the icing, didn't separate and will last a long time. They would give good color to slime or homemade play dough as well. AND they're made in the USA. Recommend.

Made in the USA! Yay!
I use food dye to color cupcake frosting and I like having a nice variety on hand. This set from Bakerpan is reasonably priced and I am very happy that they are made in the USA! Decently sized .7oz tubes will last a while as they are highly concentrated and a little goes a long way. I prefer to use gels in my frosting so the texture is not compromised and so far I have not noticed any off taste or funny chemical aftertaste, but like I said I use it sparingly. These arrive in a little plastic storage box and they all have a flip top plastic lid that allows you to dispense a drop at a time, or you can open the top to get a toothpick in and pull out a scant amount to get the desired color you are after. Overall I am very pleased! Shown are a mint chocolate chip cupcake that I used a few drops of green and a scant hint of brown in, as well as a shark cupcake that I painted the inside of the piping bag with blue to get the look of ocean waves.

Comparable to Name Brand Food Color Gel
This set of Bakerpan Food Coloring Squeeze Gel .7 oz Tubes is the first gel food coloring product that I've used other than Wilton. I like that the tubes are far less messy to use than the other product (tiny jars).Coloring is achieved by squeezing a very small amount of gel at a time into the buttercream/Royal icing/Swiss Meringue/etc. that you are coloring. The gel does not change the consistency of the frosting you are making. If you're unsure of how much to use, put a few tablespoons of buttercream into a separate bowl and add the gel to it. Make it a far deeper shade than you desire and slowly work it into your larger bowl of buttercream. That way, you won't over-color your frosting.I have used liquid food coloring, powdered coloring, and two different types of gel coloring. I prefer the gel and this product is one I will continue to use.

Concentrated colors that don’t make a mess
Unlike the liquid food coloring, the gel consistency makes this easier to work with and less messy. Best of all, these are super concentrated, so you only need a drop or two for pastels, and a few more for brights. Nice range of color options, good quality!

Gel is the way to go
I love gel food colorings and these are no exception. I have not noticed any taste when adding these to my icings and they blend in very well without any surprise icing clumps. The hues come out very strong with just a little bit of gel. There are 8 different colors for lots of different projects. I have used this to make homemade play dough and the kids were excited for colors we had never made before. The price is reasonable for the amount you get and the quality of the colorings. I also really like that it comes in a squeeze bottle, I find it is much more convenient and less messy.
