good book
I bought this book to gain "product sense" of the nowadays' tech industry company. Some of the questions in the book are quite interesting, but i'd hope more thorough and insightful explanation.

Great prep!
This (and Lewis Lin's other books) have been fundamental to my prep practice as I have interviewed for new roles - being in the startup world, it happens more than you might think! I would recommend this book to anyone looking to join a PM team, whether they were previously a PM or not. His online tools are so useful as well!

The questions are great and inspiring
The questions are great and inspiring, but the answers.... Don't take them seriously. The best way to use this book is doing mock interview with your peers.

Not a recommended way to prep for case interviews
Disappointing book. Bought another one at the same time and it is much better than this. The first part of the book is an oversimplified glossary, then it just goes into practice questions. Most of these practice questions lack depth - and suggested frameworks are very tactical. Other book I purchased offers more comprehensive information. This seems like more like solving a riddle than actual prep for case interviews.

disappointed
I don't think you would get a tech job learning from the book, especially in the famous companies. The answers provided in the book are overly simplistic. I think the interviewer expect much better

Plan to solve something for your interviewer
In school I was told that my professors often put problems that stumped them on exams, hoping that a student would solve them. Tech companies do the same and here's your chance to practice solving tough questions that are probably stumping your interviewers. This book provides you an overview of major frameworks: Circles, 5 E's, 5 W's & H's, MVP, DIGs, MOB, SCAMPER, and many others to refresh you on how to build your answer. The heart of the book is the questions and answers that show you how to answer a case question. The questions are timely and topical and run the gamut from established tech firms (Microsoft, Google, Amazon) to pre-IPO startups (Uber, Dropbox). The focus on the book is on the challenges of tech companies to create, penetrate, monetize, and expand the markets for their products. There is a strong focus on product design, market analysis, operations, business development, and behavioral questions.Where I found this book light was on technical preparation, which could use a whole book on its own! This book is recommended for anyone who wants to improve their preparation for interviews with tech companies for functional roles. To use it most effectively, read the question first and work out the problem without first looking at the answer (hide it with a blank piece of paper). Once you solve it, compare it to the answer. The answers themselves are not definitive so by the end of the book, you may surprise yourself and find your answers are better than what the book provided. If you do that in your interview, you will impress your interviewer and get that job!

Finally! A case interview prep book for marketing, finance, biz dev, ops, strategy folks in the tech industry.
There are plenty of consulting interview prep books. And there are lots of PM interview prep books. But there are no prep books for tech marketing, tech finance, tech biz dev. Or for ops roles at Apple and Amazon. Or strat roles at Microsoft. Or GM roles at uber.So finally there’s a book that covers all that. 20 sample answers for ops. 25 sample answers for marketing. 12 for finance. And so on.Hallelujah. Because you can’t cookie cutter consulting frameworks into tech disciplines. And PM frameworks can’t swiss army knife for GM, biz dev, tech roles. It kinda sucks that the frameworks aren’t included in the book. Lewis tells us to get his other books. So slight half point minus there.(I do have Rise Above the Noise and Decode and Conquer already. They’re excellent, insightful reads. Super well-written, easy-to-read with a conversational tone. Get ‘em if you haven’t already. Highly recommend. So we’ll round up from 4.5 to 5 stars.)

It's a good start since thisnis the first book focused on tech roles on the business side. But lacks depth, and better frameworks, on how to think about the challenges thrown at you and how to solve them. I've gone through quite a few interview rounds, and the questions I received were much more specific and harder than the ones on the book, and the answers they were expecting from me were of much higher quality.
